Here for sale we have my stunning and very rare mk1 MX-5 if you're looking at this then i'm sure you know all about these rare UK limited edition Mazdas. I searched for nearly half a year to find this example as i only wanted a car in Montego blue (the finest mx5 colour) so it was either a Gleneagles or an RS and after viewing 2 poor examples of both i found this gem! It's a genuine three owner car with only 82,000 miles on the clock.
It has recently been serviced and i have a full service kit that will come with the car which includes a new cambelt kit inluding new metal waterpump, spark plugs etc.
I have added some much needed upgrades such as the genuine Lotus Elise S2 leather seats which match the cream interior perfectly! These are on proper mounts so are adjustable as per the original Mazda seats, they also have adjustable lumbar support and are far more comfortable and infinitely more supportive that the original seats. These in my opinion are a nicer option to the RS Recaro items and look far more original! I have also added a brand new set of coilover suspension but to be honest it needs setting up correctly as currently it is VERY bumpy though the plus is it sticks to the road like glue!
The overall condition is superb in my opinion, there is no rust to the car and the sills are completely original with no prior welding. I have included a photo of the wing taken while the sun was out to show the quality of the paint as sadly the rest of the photos were taken on an overcast day so you cant see how amazing the colour really is. I own many other vehicles and the paintwork on this car really is second to none for its age! There are minor dings as to be expected but all are easily rectified by a paintless dent remover, these have never bothered me thus not getting it done. The interior again is superb with no fading to any of the wood/interior, i replaced the original stereo with the JVC double din unit and it matches the interior lighting perfectly and looks more at home than the original! The alloys are the original 15" items which are in good condition though would require a light refinish to make like new again, the tyres are good all round with at least 5mm tread.
Sadly the service book was misplaced by the first owner though i have various receipts with the car and to be honest the condition of the car speaks volumes! As pictured the rear window has sadly cracked and has been taped up to make watertight, this would ideally need replacing though as the vinyl roof is original it does have small cracks on the folds so it would really benefit from a new Mohair hood. The original Gleneagles bookback, key holder and cream leather tonneau cover (not pictured) are included as well as all 3x keys.
To summarize this is a perfectly usable modern classic in fantastic condition ready to be enjoyed for years to come! I love the car dearly but since moving space is now an issue so the car is currently stored at my parents house and i cant see myself using it again now till next summer. There most certainty aren't many Mk1's left in this condition, viewing is highly recommended.
