What a great time to buy this stunning sportscar at a budget price!
Mazda MX5 Mk 1. 1996. Monaco Special Limited Edition.
Mazda MX5, the Sportscar that broke the mould! Finished in a classic Neo Green with Charcoal cloth interior. The softop comes in a Tan colour as standard for this particular model.
The Monaco is a limited run edition of just 450 examples and designed as a no frills sportscar specifically for the UK market and apparently was introduced to undercut the price of the newly released MGF.
The car comes in superb condition for it's year and I doubt whether there are many Mk 1's on the road in this condition. Paintwork is excellent with little in the way of imperfections at all, a good solid example. The interior is also excellent with barely any wear. Soft top in very good condition also. Lovely clean engine bay.
The car shows a mileage of 131,000 miles and comes with a full service history, plus receipts and all the associated manuals. The cam belt was changed just 10,000 miles ago.
Starts and sounds just as it should and gives a super exhaust note through it's stainless steel silencer.
Driving the car is such a joy and great fun, giving an excellent spread of usable power, nice short gearchange and great handling.
Since owning the car I have added a set of genuine MX5 overmats, tonneau cover and a recent tasteful Momo steering wheel. (Original will come with the sale). I have had so much pleasure from the car over the summer, but sadly I can't justify so many toys :( Hopefully this car will go to another like minded enthusiast.
To sum up, a fantastic open top roadster all round giving good economy and low insurance.
