Description
Great example of the renowned performance coupe.
This is the limited edition PZ version, which had it's suspension tweaked by Race and Rally Tuning Firm Prodrive, had a bespoke Scorpion freer-flowing exhaust fitted, lightweight Alloy Wheels by Italian Firm Oz along with a rear spoiler and unique aerodynamic wing mirrors. Only 800 PZ versions were made, and only 300 of those were in this colour of Galaxy Grey. Factor in that a number of these will no longer be on the road, and you have a fairly unique vehicle!
I bought the car in April 2015, the first thing I did was take it to renowned Rotary Engine specialists 'Rotary Revs' in Batley for a health check and the all important compression test. Results were as follows (standardised):
Front Rotor: 6.5, 6.5, 7.0
Rear Rotor: 7.4, 7.3, 7.4
Cranking Speed: 285 rpm.
Since then I've had the exhaust manifold gasket changed and the tracking sorted.
In January 2016 I took it back to Rotary Revs for an Annual Service and another compression test. Results were as follows (standardised):
Front Rotor: 7.0, 7.0, 7.0
Rear Rotor: 6.5, 6.9, 6.0
Cranking Speed: 250 rpm.
They had no concerns at all with the engine, and as you can see the results are healthy. I had it MOT'd on the same day and it passed with no work required.
There are NO hot starting issues, I have used it as a daily driver for the last year and have had no problems with it.
This handles fantastically, well balanced front engine/rear wheel drive 50/50 weight distribution, corners flat and level and taking the engine to 9500rpm before changing up is a joy!
This is a fantastic example of the car, but bear in mind it is 10 years old and the bodywork reflects this with some stone chips/scratches etc. the worst being on the lower front bumper on the passenger side: annoyingly, last week I scraped a low kerb at my local multiplex. It is not concourse condition by any means, but it is in average to good condition for the year.
No rips/tears to the leather, the stereo is in full working order with a 6 CD auto changer built in to the dash. This also has the illuminated gear knob added extra! There is a loose connection though, I've soldered it once but it is obviously loose again. Not a big fix, but one I won't get round to doing.
The car is currently on Dunlop SP Winter tyres all round, I won't be changing them for the sale. I do have a pair of Continental ContactSport 5 tyres with plenty of tread that I can include in the sale if the price is right.
Do not confuse this car with some of the tired, poorly maintained examples you hear about with engine problems! It has been serviced and cared for by each owner, and if properly maintained will give years of trouble free motoring.
Xenon headlights are fantastic, and the leather seats are heated. Great in Winter! This also has the upgraded BOSE sound system.
Any questions please ask, I am open to serious offers, but not ones vastly below what it's listed for.
