Mercedes-Benz 200-Series. For auction is a 1982 Mercedes-Benz 240d, diesel, 4-cylinder, 4-speed manual transmission, sunroof, power windows, blue MB-Tex interior. This 4 cylinder diesel was owned by a certified Mercedes Benz Technician on the west coast who meticulously maintained the car. The engine was completely overhauled at 300,000 miles. This car starts and runs very smoothly and feels great to drive. Even the MB-Tex blue "leather" interior is still in great shape. The interior electronics run quite smoothly, including 3 windows and the sunroof. There is wear on the dashboard appropriate for a car of this vintage; this can be seen in the photos. The body and engine compartment are also both in excellent shape with only minor blemishes. Because this car has been so well maintained, this would be a great car to convert into a "grease car", a car that runs on used oils. These rare 4-cylinder, manual transmission diesels are hard to come by in such good condition and would be a perfect candidate to convert into a "greaser" to run on Waste Vegetable Oil (WVO). The large trunk easily accommodates a secondary fuel tank for a grease car conversion.
