Up for sale is this nice 1981 Mercedes 240D.If you have ever owned a Mercedes diesel then you know what wonderful automobiles they are. They will literally run for a million miles if you take care of them. Mercedes Diesels are known worldwide for their reliability. These are truly the last of the overbuilt Mercedes. This car had very good care over the years it lived in Pebble Beach when it was new. The body is straight, the paint good. Not a show car but a perfect work or student car. The interior is nice; the seats look like new and have plenty of padding; the dash has just begun to crack a little. The original glass is very clear, no clouding. As with most cars that live over here it has some minor rust, but nothing serious of unsafe. Runs and drives great. It has plenty of power, going freeway speeds is not a problem. If you have ever wanted to own a nice Mercedes Diesel, but don’t want to nurse a worn out car, then this car’s for you! Mileage of 160k is nothing for these cars. I have seen them with over 500k miles still running strong. I do believe the mileage is a little more because the odometer only works intermittently. Perfect first car for that special teenager.
