Description
With a production date of May 1985, this is one of the last W123 series coupes built by Mercedes Benz. This 300CD turbo diesel coupe was finished in "Rauchsilber" or Smoke silver (MB color code 702) with Palomino color MB-Tex interior. The mostly original paint is still in very good condition with only very minor chips or scratches. It still shines like on a much newer car and i do get compliments on it every time i drive it. The chrome all around still looks amazing.
The interior is super clean, as the many extra pictures will show. The seats are still firm and and not all worn. The carpets, door panels and headliner are clean and even the dashboard is in excellent condition. The wood accents still have their shine and even the original Becker radio still works.
This car really stands out and it is hard to believe, that it is 36 years old. But the best thing is the way it drives. I recently took it on a 1000 mile nonstop drive and even though it was stored for quite a while before, it just drove wonderful without any issues.
It cruises at 85-90 mph for hours and just wants to keep going. I just put some diesel in it every 250 miles and was back on my way. You can not do that with an electric car.
Afterwards i dropped it off at my mechanic and had him go through the whole car. The car was serviced, the valves were adjusted, new brakes were installed and the brake lines were bled. I could not think of anything else it needs. The transmission shifts very smooth through all the gears and it has great power in town and on the freeway. I would not hesitate driving it long distance again at a moments notice. This is a really fun to drive classic car , that you can literally drive every day without worries. It has only 165k miles on it , which is actually low miles for this kind of Mercedes. They are known to go over 600k miles on the same engine with proper maintenance.
The 300-series coupes and station wagons of this vintage have been steadily appreciating in value over the last few years.
There are just not that many in this condition around anymore, so this car should only go up in value.
I did upload 75 more detailed pictures below. Please look at them carefully , as they can describe this wonderful car better than i can. If you have any questions or would like to come by and see it , please send me a note through Ebay and i will get back to you promptly. Communication is key.
Please have your funding in order and do all your "due diligence" BEFORE placing a bid. This is a wonderful classic Mercedes and as such will be sold "as is" and WITHOUT a warranty.
I would prefer to sell it locally to somebody who could actually come out and see it. But i will also be helpful with shipping arrangements for any out of town winning bidders.
Thank you for looking at my auction and good luck !!
