Description
This is my beautiful SL 500.. It is a rust free Arizona car. I purchased it from a bachlor who took excellent care of it and had all scheduled maintanence done as perscribed. Since I have owned it, I have had the front shocks and motor mounts replaced. These are two items that typically need replacement after time. I also replaced the leather seat covers (the inner seat panels are perforated leather, as I think it looks much better than the plain leather), replaced the hood blanket and numerous other items. I have all the reciepts.
The previous owned had after market wheels on the car. He had the original wheels, which I had refinished and restored. They are in perfect condition. At that time I also purchased new tires. All of the above mentioned work was done within the last 3000 miles.
When the car was in the shop, I had my mechanic remove the hardtop and put the soft top up and down. It worked fine, and he stated the top was in excellent condition. I have never seen the soft top, so I will have to take him at his word, which I do not doubt.
Just took the car on an 800 mile trip and everything worked flawlessly. There are no issues with the car. It drives like it was machined out of one piece of metal. Nothing is perfect, but I would have to rate this car as excellent plus, plus. Come to Arizona and drive it home.
