1983 Mercedes-Benz 500 SEC. Car was imported from Germany in 1984 by a local couple in the automotive business. Originally purchased from K. Santelmann Mercedes of Luneburg, Germany, a dealer well known for Mercedes tuning. Prior to original delivery, a Brabus suspension and wheel package was installed at the dealership in Germany. At 26,305 miles the motor was replaced under warranty at Santelmann. Upon arrival in the U.S. the car was fitted with an AMG body kit and painted black. The car was driven sparingly until being stored in 2006, I purchased it last summer from the couple that imported it, and have spent the last six months restoring it. I have a clear New York State title, in my name.
Some of the work done includes:
- New Battery
- Complete service of fuel system
- Brake flush, oil change, etc.
- Four new Continental Tires
- All new brakes - rotors pads and calipers
- New Old Stock headlight glass
- New seat cables
- New belts
- Comprehensive professional detail.
The only remaining work needed is replacement of both seat switches (seats work and are functioning, but the plastic switch covers are missing) and sorting out or replacing the radio.
This car runs, drives and handles exceptionally well. I have owned several other Mercedes Benz's and this is by far the best driving one I have had. The car is not show perfect, but will make someone a fantastic driver.
I am willing to deliver free within 120 miles of 13901. Outside of that range the buyer is responsible for all shipping costs. I will be happy to assist with loading, airport pick-up, or any way that I can.
$1,000 Non-Refundable deposit must be paid within 48 hours of auction close. Balance due within seven days of auction close. Pick-up or shipping arrangements must be made within 14 days of auction close.
