Description

Selling on behalf of my Gran a 2002 Mercedes-Benz CLK 230K Convertible Avantgarde.
Finished in Silver with Black roof and contrasting Grey / Navy leather interior, this is the supercharged 2.3 4 cylinder version of the CLK which gives the best compromise between power and economy. It is also fitted with the more desirable automatic gearbox and being the Avantgarde model it is also very generously specified from factory.
The car was bought new by my Grandad who unfortunately passed away in 2009; following this the car was passed on to my Gran, hence the previous keeper, so the car has been family owned since new.
Gran's now in her 80's so has recently downsized to a new A-Class purely as she felt that the CLK was getting a bit too big and slightly too powerful for her.
Being owned from new by OAP's the car's has extremely low mileage verified by previous MOT's and an extensive service history and has most definitely not had a hard life.
All of the history is from the supplying dealership (Mercedes-Benz Shrewsbury) apart from the last couple of years where its been looked after by a local garage (under advice from my Mum as the same garage also look after her C250 and SL500, so know their way around a Merc)
It's MOT'd until 27th June 2016 with no advisories. It will come with the complete book pack including owners manuals and service book, 2 x remote keys (one needs a new battery) and a wedge of receipts an inch thick (old MOT's, invoices etc) I have the full V5C (in my Grans name still).
Fully HPI clear and has not been involved in an accident before - the car is even still on the original number plates.
Mechanically the car is excellent as one would expect from an extremely low mileage, well maintained Mercedes. The engine and gearbox are superb, plenty of power coupled with smooth shifting from the automatic tip-tronic gearbox.
The suspension and brakes, again in perfect condition with the car handling and stopping as it should with no unusual knocks / noises. The car has had new springs, lower arms and shock absorbers previously - all work carried out by main dealer.
Interior is again, in excellent condition with everything fully functional The fully electric, heated leather interior has worn very well and there are no marks to the interior worth mentioning and it comes with the original over mats.
The electrically operated roof is in excellent condition, doesn't leak and is fully functional so perfect for those summer days.
Externally as you can see in the pictures the car is in reasonably good condition for its age; however as is typical of Mercedes from this era it has suffered from the typical rust to the wheel arches as can be seen in the photos, aside from this and a few other minor age related marks its in good condition and is definitely still a very solid car. Its never been in an accident and is all the same shade of silver.
The alloy wheels are in surprisingly good, original condition (Gran's actually quite a good steer!) and they are shod with good condition OE spec Continental tyres all round.
Hopefully you can appreciate that I've been as honest as I can in the advert, highlighting the cars bad points as well as its selling points. The car nor I have anything to hide.
The car could be used as is or could be opportunity for someone to spend a few hundred quid sorting out the paintwork and have an immaculate, low mileage example of a Mercedes-Benz convertible to cherish for years to come.
If I was in the market for this sort of car I'd definitely be taking it off my Grans hands, sorting out the bodywork and keeping; however I must be the black sheep of the family as I much prefer BMW's and a manual gearbox.
The car has been SORNED and is no longer insured, we do have access to a private road so there's possibility a short test drive could take place on that, alternatively if you want to insure it and tax it a longer test-drive would be no problem.
Looking at other cars on the market I think the car is priced fairly taking into account the condition, history and low mileage; however we are open to reasonable offers following a viewing.
Cash / Bank transfer is preferred and we are not in a position to accept a P/X.
Cheers
