QUICK FACTS: Turbo diesel power. Outstanding gas mileage. A lot of torque. Super comfortable and smooth. Overall great looking vehicle, it has real road presence without being obnoxiously big.
THE DETAILS: I loved owning my ML Bluetec. I'm only selling it to purchase a work truck for my business. Previous owner It's practically made to perform well in the snow and ice, has a ton of room for everything you need. The Turbo V6 is plenty of power and the cabin feels ultra expensive. At my milage, virtually nothing has really gone wrong. Just maintain as required, oil, diesel treatments, AdBlue, and service the brakes when needed and it will live forever. You will be quite pleased with it. The overall exterior styling is quite pleasing and not too flashy and looks sleek and athletic. The interior is well appointed and comfortable. The driver display is crisp, clean and unconfused. The COMMAND system's crystal clear and bright display is one of the best I've ever seen in a vehicle. The interface takes a bit of getting used to but becomes 2nd nature after a little use. HVAC controls are intuitive and easy to adjust. The temperature of the heat and AC is ridiculous. I can’t explain why but I guarantee you have never owned a vehicle that puts out heat and AC like this one. As far as performance goes, there isn’t a ton of horses under the hood but it is a very good performer. The torque on the other hand is very impressive and when you put your foot down, the 7 speed transmission provides an invisible hand that presses you back in your seat, even when passing from 70 mph. It is also quite happy to burble along at 35 mph in almost complete silence when driving around locally. Fuel economy is quite impressive. My usual around town take is about 20 mpg. On the highway, its even better. You will average about 26 mph. Just took a trip down from NC to Texas and then back to NY. My average speed was about 75 mph. With the 25 gallon fuel tank, that means you are going over 600 miles when the low fuel light comes on. Just don't let the tank run out completely or you'll have to have the whole system drained. I give this vehicle 4.5 stars out of 5 over all. This is an incredible vehicle and I'd recommend it to anyone, hands down if you want a car with good fuel economy, a nice interior, and a diesel engine that should last you to 500,000 miles and still be going strong this is your SUV.
