2000 Mercedes Benz ML55 AMG W163 M113 5.4 V8 AWD Custom Steel Bumpers - ML 55

For sale is my awesome, customized dark blue 2000 ML55 AMG. Back when the ML55 came out, it was the fastest production SUV in the world. And it is still very fast today, and still faster than many new trucks and SUVs out there in 2021. It’s a true Sleeper! Not your average run of the mill Silver ML55 like all the rest out there…My ML55 is one of a kind and has one-off Steel Bumpers custom fitted and professionally installed by Go Rhino front and back. As well as their Steel roof rack. These upgrades costed $3500 total. You won’t find these bumpers for sale anywhere as these were custom retrofitted just for this application for an Industry friend.
These are genuine heavy duty steel bumpers and made to last. No more worrying about the original ML plastic bumpers cracking and deteriorating. And these heavy duty steel bumpers also come in handy against anything life may throw at you, front or rear! They are both a J Walkers and a tailgater’s worst nightmare haha kidding of course :)
This ML55 makes for a fantastic daily driver, or an “Urban Assault Vehicle” , or put a lift on it with some big All Terrain or Mud Tires and take it anywhere! The W163 is the only generation that was built tough with body on frame construction, and came with All Wheel Drive with Low Range. These little SUVS are actually very good, very capable off road Vehicles. This ML55 is a true, genuine AMG with the bulletproof 5.4L M113 naturally aspirated V8, backed up by the extremely reliable and tough 722 automatic transmission. These vehicles are not only quick, but also built to last. It’s not uncommon to see these vehicles run for well over 300k miles easily. This ML55 only has 169,986 miles, it’s just a baby! You can see the Mercedes and AMG quality not only under the hood, but on the inside as well. These cars came with quality black leather interiors with all the creature comforts you could think of back in the early 2000s.
This particular ML55 runs and drives great, lots of power, no fluid leaks whatsoever, and all the electronics work as expected. The power Windows, locks, sunroof, lights, factory HID headlamps, wipers, AC, heater, defroster, heated seats, aftermarket Stereo all work perfectly. This car handles and stops quite well for a SUV, as it comes with strong Brembo brakes from the factory. The large 18” factory AMG wheels have meaty 285/50/18 tires all around. You can have confidence in how reliable this ML is and you can take it anywhere without hesitation.
I’ve owned many Benzs and AMGs over the years and still currently own a few so I make sure to maintain these vehicles the way they should be maintained, and I’ve also done the necessary repairs and replaced a few parts on this ML55 as well.
Recent new parts/maintenance include:
•Transmission Service (new fluid, filter, and gasket)
•New Transmission Oil Pan
•Conductor Plate replaced in 2020.
•Battery replaced in 2020.
•Synthetic Oil and filter change.
•Wheel Speed ABS sensor replaced (rear drivers side)
•Brake Light Switch
•Water Pump
•Coolant system flush/new fluid (green coolant & water with Hyperlube super coolant additive)
•Thermostat
•Drivers side Door Lock Actuator
Lots of money invested into this ML55.
The only “issues” with this ML is the following:
•Original Dark Blue Paint’s Clear Coat is flaking on the Hood, roof, and a couple other small spots.
•Some scratches and dings in the drivers side rear door and other various areas.
•ABS/BAS/ETS lights and Check Engine light pop on and off intermittently. I already scanned the codes and replaced the sensors related to these error lights but the lights keep coming back from time to time. Car still drives perfectly though and is not affected by these lights. It’s related to something minor, nothing major to worry about. This car is extremely reliable and drives like a dream.
This ML55 successfully passed smog on 03/23/01.
Current Registration good till March 2022.

This ML55 is bone stock except for:
•Smoked LED Tail Lamps
•K&N filter in the factory air box.
•RennTech Shifter.
•Aftermarket Pioneer CD Player with AUX input. (Great sounding system)
These cars are becoming more rare every day and this ML55 is particularly unique. I get compliments on this SUV all the time, and everyone always wants to know more about the steel bumpers. It’s a real conversation piece, and a true piece of /////AMG history.
I recently sold my 2003 S500 Benz on eBay, the buyer flew in to nearby Ontario Airport and drove the S500 home to Tennessee. The car made it all the way there with no issues and the buyer was very happy and left me positive feedback.
