Description
Obsidian Metallic Black with Graphite leather
64K miles, MOT to Sept 2016, 7 Owners including me and the car appears to have been thoroughly babied by all of them.
AMG Body Kit, AMG Alloys, Panoramic Roof, Keyless Go, Distronic, Parktronic, Power-fold Mirrors, Bose Sound, TV Tuner, Linguatronic, Nokia Phone Prep (now contains Viseeo MBU-3000 bluetooth adapter)
I bought this car a year ago having spent ages looking at numerous cars with damp boots the dealers described as mint which were far from it. I finally found this cosseted beauty (with dry boot!) which apparently needed only the alloys refurbished, a service and new tyres.
After buying I had the full B service done by renowned SL guru and MB Master Mechanic Stephen Garlick who gave the car a full going over including
B ServiceNew Engine MountsResealed cam box breathersABC rear valve block replacement and complete ABC fluid change
If you've spent any time researching these cars you'll know that the ABC system can become very expensive if the fluid hasn't been changed regularly. In addition to Stephen doing it at 62K it was also done by Mercedes Brighton in 2009 at 45K, so it's been taken care of regularly unlike on most R230s which are therefore monetary ticking bombs!
The alloys were then properly refurbished in-house by Wheel Works in Horsham and new Michelin Pilots fitted all round. I put a new OEM leather steering wheel on to replace the half-timbered one it was optioned with. I also changed the rear light clusters for OEM SL55 ones to complement the AMG body kit.
The options on this car came to over £11k when it was new, it has all the good ones (full nappa leather is the only thing missing). It even has Distronic - the radar cruise control which works brilliantly and makes motorway driving serene!
The bodywork is beautiful - dent and scratch free, just a couple of tiny stone chips to the front valance. The interior is virtually as new, even the rubber knobs on the COMAND unit are perfect, which is rare and the OEM mat set is brand new. Complete book and navigation CD pack present, plus wind deflector in vinyl case and two keys.
Service History:
04/02/2005 - 10983 miles by Mercedes-Benz of Slough30/11/2005 - 22,915 miles by Mercedes-Benz of Slough29/08/2006 - 32,535 miles by Mercedes-Benz of Brighton25/11/2008 - 41,939 miles by Mercedes-Benz of Brighton26/08/2010 - 51,119 miles by Mercedes-Benz of Reading15/05/2015 - 62,805 miles by Stevensons Mercedes Specialists (Stephen Garlick)
There are MOTs present going back to 2011, which coupled with the service history verify the mileage. Current MOT to 11/09/2016 (passed with no advisories)
This car needs nothing and is ready to go for the summer. If you want a black one you won't find nicer - as close to a new R230 as you're likely to get. Selling due to Bentley purchase. First to see will buy.
