The bids didn't trip the set reserve price so I have lowered both the Buy-It-Now price and the Reserve Price. Take a look!
This 2003 Mercedes SLK320 was purchased on 8/12/2012 with 35,814 miles on the odometer. The Roadster now has 42,888 miles on it! IN 9 YEARS, 7074 MILES HAVE BEEN PUT ON THIS CAR! That is a little less than 800 miles per year! And, in those 9 years it has been garaged and never driven in the rain or inclement weather of any kind.
The convertible hardtop works perfectly, it sports special AMG wheels, the tires have v. good tread left,the original Mercedes radio w/ 6-disk trunk CD player are included (not installed), it has a Pioneer AM-FM, CD player installed w/ Bluetooth/Satellite capability (Start Guide included), the interior is in great condition and all switches and buttons work as they should, the paint is not perfect but is in really nice condition, and the 3.2 liter 6 cylinder runs strong with a satisfying howl when you punch it.
The AC is not working. Why is an unknown. I assume a leak but I'm not a mechanic so no guarantees. Also, the BAS/ESP light goes on intermittently. The Yaw Rate Sensor was replaced in 2019 as a fix so I don't have the answer why.
PRICING: Here are some details to ponder -
KBB Private Party GOOD condition - $7,290 - 10,785 w/ an average of $9,038
KBB Private Party FAIR condition - $6,676 - 9,675 w/ an average of $8,176
Because of the AC issue, etc and that the car is NOT perfect I did not base my reserve on KBB Good value. I used the KBB FAIR Trade-in rating at $5,203 - 7,046 w/ an average of $6,125
So, BUY IT NOW price is $6,200 (just a little better than FAIR Trade-in average). This is extremely reasonable for a Mercedes with this low mileage in this condition!
By the way: This car is fun to drive (especially with the top down!) so mileage may very because of local driving. Also, keep in mind this is a convertible. The actual need for AC is relatively low.
