Description
This car has been parked for the last two years. Owner bought a new car.
Before it was parked it ran and was used as a daily driver by with no mechanical issues.
Past History: This car was mine for 5 years before I gave it to my son as I bought a 2004 SLK 320 with very low miles to replace this one a few years ago.
This car: see photos: The Good.
Both The engine and Transmission are in good shape
body panels and doors are solid and in good condition, the exception would be the Lower left front panel which has a number of cracks associated with a “fender bender”.
The Bad; The inside of the car: The seat upholstery, dash, and the inside door panels are poor shape.
The Top hydraulics: that operate the convertible top are in unknown current condition, I had two of the top related hydraulics replaced in2010 for $1100 dollars each at Momentum Auto Works in Birmingham AL. I have to assume the remaining three hydraulic cylinders and the master pump do not work.
I would consider this car, based on current condition, an ideal candidate as a parts car, or an expensive rehab. This would depend on your interest and “Wallet”
These cars are fast and fun to drive.
This model is becoming much more difficult to find over the last 2-3 years.
