This Mercedes Sprinter conversion was thoughtfully designed, methodically engineered, and meticulously constructed to be the ultimate expression of a 144 length, high roof, off grid camper van. The goal was achieving the triple crown of “no compromise” van design: a full time queen size bed that doesn’t require set up and take down shenanigans twice a day, a fully functional kitchen space with fridge, sink, stove and prep area, and a truly comfortable seating area that doesn’t rely on the use of swiveling drivers and passenger seats for the seating. This setup allows for a great relaxation space that is not dependent on using the driving seats.
A unique interior layout allows for this multi functional space. A fold down stove that lives in the tall cabinet behind the driver is the key to the user friendly design. When the stove is up, it makes for an easy pass through from the front while en-route or camped, and, once parked, simply fold the stove down when needed. A bench seat and adjacent jump seat make for expansive lounging and eating at the adjustable Lagun table, which stores behind the drivers seat when not in use. Meticulous attention to detail is clearly evident anywhere you look in this van.
There is an abundance of storage through-out - a flip up cabinet above stove, a truly huge, locking closet with four shelves behind stove, and a shallow two shelf pantry below stove. Full length upper cabinets (4x) along drivers side wall, two cavernous pull out drawers below the bench seat, and two tall, narrow cabinets to the left of the slider door that are perfect for shoe storage. The small cabinet on the outside of the fridge has a fold up table for outside use, as well as two shallow shelves for more storage, a 12v. Usb charger and a handy 110v. outlet in case you need to plug in a blender or appliance for an al fresco party. There is additional “hidden” storage for less commonly used items below the cushions along the drivers side - one deep well to the right of the porta potty, one shallow well left of porta potty, and another shallow well in the corner, that also allows access to water pump and plumbing connections. Coat hooks up high on the back of tall cabinet behind the drivers seat are perfect for coats and hats.
The van is factory optioned with a number of options that made it highly suitable for a conversion - factory heavy duty suspension, shocks, and stabilizer, 200 amp alternator, and fuel tap in fuel tank for diesel heater. It has a full service history at Mercedes Benz of Seattle and Lynwood. The engine is the legendary 4 cylinder turbo diesel that regularly achieves half a million miles when properly maintained.
Front brake rotors, calipers, pads and sensor are new, rear has new pads and sensors. Mercedes of Seattle recently completed an extensive DEF service that involved replacement of the DEF injectors, and re-programming of the computer.
Clean CarFax available - The Experian car report via eBay has an incorrect reference to a structural issue that doesn't/never did exist - I am happy to verify this to whatever level required. Van has not been in any major accidents or had any airbags deployed.
Interior Features:
“Flarespace” fiberglass body extensions to allow for sideways sleeping (up to about 6’1”) in the rear of a Sprinter - tremendous space savings while still allowing a queen size bed. Slider windows in both flares with bug screens.
Full custom baltic birch 1/2 inch cabinetry (3/4 for bench and jump seat bases). All casework is edge banded, primed and painted with high quality Sherwin Williams enamel paint. Construction is pocket screws, glue, and stainless steel 90 degree corner braces for rock solid, no squeak long term stability.
Birch wall and door paneling. Smith and Fong Plyboo bamboo counters and table.
5/16” x 3” re-milled vertical grain fir ceiling and wall trim.
Aluminum extrusion struts for bed platform supports.
Rubber “coin tread” style flooring - continuous front to back - no seams.
Adhesive mat style high density sound deadening thru out. 3M thinsulate insulation thru out. Additional layer of Reflectix between wall paneling and insulation. Owens Corning Foamular 250 xps rigid insulation bonded to 3/4” plywood subfloor - zero squeaks. Stays cool in the heat and warm and cozy in the winter.
Corduroy upholstery on high density foam cushions.
Queen size high density foam with laminated memory foam topper mattress.
Stainless steel zero radius deep sink with removable stainless steel and bamboo prep board/cover. Swivel faucet with 24” pull out feature.
Front and rear “zoned” overhead lighting and under cabinet led tape light with diffuser - three switches - each individually dimmable. Two bedside, dimmable led reading lights.
Four 12v. Usb charging ports - on the sink cabinet, one on exterior of the tall cabinet next to the jump seat, one on the wall to left of slider door and one next to the bed in the rear. Three 120 volt (household current) duplex outlets - one on sink cabinet, one in locking tall closet, and one next to bed in the rear.
Cabinet mounted gauges/monitors/switches control panel for a clean, uncluttered interior.

Thetford Porta Potty in jump seat cabinet on 350lb. drawer slides.
Suburban 6 gallon propane water heater for “always on” hot water in sink and rear exterior shower. Water tank has been plumbed to allow for easy winterization of the van - the water tank can be isolated from the rest of the water system via brass ballcock valves to keep the antifreeze used in winterizing the water system from causing damage to the water heater. Access is via large removable panel at rear of pantry cabinet below stove.

Maxxfan ceiling fan with rain shield - operable in the rain.

Space for two full size mountain bikes with front wheels removed, and/or tons of open space for whatever toys you travel with.
Expansive storage well/shelf above water tank.
Shower cabinet for shower head/hose and shower curtains storage. Marine style chrome mixing valve and stainless steel quick connector for Kohler shower head. Also access for water tank drain valve.
Electrical cabinet with full height bypass doors for easy access to battery and electrical components - dedicated interior led light for night use. Vented for proper air flow to electrical components.
Led tape light around ceiling perimeter with dimmer. 12v charging port and 120v duplex outlet.
Propane cabinet with floor mounted copper “drain pipe” for safety. 10lb tank with Marshall Excelsior two stage regulator. Continuous stainless steel clad supply line from tank to water heater location where the supply line tees off to stove and water heater with additional stainless steel clad lines.
Two small rubber clad shelves for garage usage.
Electrical System:
Meticulously designed and assembled for ultimate function, safety, and efficiency. With 200 amp hours of lithium ion battery and 360 watts of high efficiency solar panels, coupled with a very low daily amp draw due to the high efficiency of the fridge, low draw led lighting, and propane for cooking and heating, this configuration easily allows for extended off grid time, even in cloudy conditions, and if the sun is out you likely won’t ever be limited for power.
Full suite of Victron Energy controllers:
MultiPlus Compact 2000 watt inverter/charger controller - True sine wave inverter, battery charger, with adaptive charge technology, and fully automated and nearly instantaneous switching to shore power/house connection. Auto switching to inverter when shore power is interrupted or disconnected. This unit makes the electrical system operate perfectly without any daily user input - it figures out what is happening at any given moment and makes the appropriate connections to always maintain power where it is needed.
Smart Solar MPPT 100/30 solar controller. Bluetooth enabled for app/tablet monitoring.
Orion Tr smart 12/12-30 Isolated DC/DC charger. Allows safe charging of the house battery via the van’s engine alternator. Wired with inline circuit breaker accessible at fuse panel below drivers seat. Bluetooth enabled for app/tablet monitoring.
Victron BMV 712 smart shunt for battery monitor.
200ah lithium battery - not two 100ah batteries - one single battery for less wiring/space usage.
2x NewPowa 180watt monocrystalline solar panels.
“Blue Sea” fuse panel and main fuse block. Individual circuits/fuses for water heater, cabin heater, water pump, fridge, fan, stove, ceiling lights, 12v. outlets, garage 12v. And a spare circuit - Fully labeled for reference.
Marine grade master “on/off” cut off switch and circuit breakers.
All 12v. wiring is highest quality marine grade tinned copper wiring in appropriate gauges for the usage. All 120v. wiring is flexible SO cord in appropriate gauges for usage.
Oversized 4/0 welding cable for battery connections to inverter - you will not exceed the wire rating if you add additional batteries in the future.
“Square D” 120v. circuit breaker panel - 30 amp shore power connection breaker and 15 amp for 110v. outlets.
Plumbing:
24 gallon “Northwest Conversions” fresh water tank. Allows space savings by placing over and around the wheel well, as well as improved handling when centered over rear axle and balanced by battery and electronics over opposite axle. Double vented for proper function regardless of van angle. Stainless steel marine deck spin out fitting with rubber gasket for filling. Drain with brass ballcock valve.
15 gallon grey water tank mounted under the van between the frame rails and gas tank - does not protrude past the frame rails for no issues with clearance. Drain includes threaded fitting for attaching a hose to facilitate draining if required.
Shurflo 4008 water pump with accumulator tank. Pump has been plumbed with upstream and downstream brass ballcock valves for easy servicing of the pump area and components should the need arise.
Full PEX plumbing for hot and cold supply. Sink drain includes p-trap for isolation of gray water tank. All ballcock valves are brass for long term durability.
Exterior Features:
Brand new BF Goodrich All Terrain TA KO2 radials.
Full length custom aluminum roof rack with four crossbars - two for mounting the two Newpowa solar panels (180 watt each for 360 watts total) and two at the rear for cargo usage. (or future roof deck?)
Aluminum ladder for roof access via rear door.
Rear step bumper.
