Description
You can take this car to most any show and never see another one like it. The first thing everyone raves about is the beautiful paint and interior. This was Mercury's sister car to the Fairlane GT and as such, much rarer than the Fairlane. In my opinion it is a far better looking style. You will have a very hard time fining a Cyclone GT at all, much less one in this condition. The rarity is evidenced by the attached Marti Report in the photos.
The original 390 was replaced with a 69 Ford 428 modified with an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold and new 750 cfm carb. Custom headers and Dynamax exhaust system. Aluminum 4 row radiator with electric fans, The transmission is the Ford C6 that was installed in all big block cars. The rear is a nine inch with a 3:25 ratio. A Cal Trac system with gas shocks, power front disc brakes and redline radial tires on period correct American Racing aluminum wheels make the car handle as it would have back in the day. All suspension components were rebuilt as necessary. It accelerates, runs, drives, stops, and turns beautifully.
The interior is original except the carpet has been replaced. The seats, dash and headliner are all in beautiful condition as you can see in the photos. The car has a one year only Mercury original AM radio that has been converted to AM/FM stereo with Bluetooth for your phone and music. Since it did not come from the factory with A/C a Vintage Air system has been installed. All the glass is good with no chips, or scratches anywhere. The factory fiberglass hood is perfect with none of the usual bending or cracks from overly strong or incorrect hood springs.
This car draws more attention than any car I've ever had, and I've had a bunch! You can cruise in comfort at whatever legal speed (or a lot more) you want and never see another like it.
NO TRADES I will accept wire transfers, cashiers checks, or cash, but the car will not leave my garage until all funds have cleared my bank. I have a clean Georgia title in my name. I will not divulge the reserve so don't ask. The car is also for sale locally so if you want to be sure you'll own it, hit the buy it now button. You will NOT be disappointed.
