Description
1971 Mercury Cougar XR7 Convertible. Bright Blue with white top and leather interior. 351 cid V8 2v. Original everything. Matching numbers. Power windows, power top, disc brakes, power windows, power steering, am radio. Incredibly it has virtually no rust apart from a little surface on very few areas. Interior is great although there is cracking in some parts of the leather from age. Original paint from 1971 so it’s not perfect. Although I don’t want to change it myself. I am the 3rd owner. I bought it from a pilot gentleman who has owned it since 1973. He bought it from a rich friend of his in river oaks in Houston. It’s been a Houston car its entire life. I have the Martin Report. FMX automatic, air conditioning (Not currently hooked up, but have compressor condenser and hoses that will come with it). It an absolutely awesome car though. Just did a 120 mile round trip at 80 mph most of the way and it didn’t skip a beat. This is a running and driving car. Freshly detailed, oil changed and coolant replaced. Has convertible cover, car cover. All lights work. Radio works. One of the best survivor cars I’ve seen. Drive it home. It has some cool documentation, user manuals. Spare tire. Rare car. Feel free to text me 832 207 6800. *Radiator started leaking so that will need to be patched before driving far and i think it needs to be balanced as it has a little shake around 40-45 mph and then goes away at higher or lower speeds.
