Description
Selling my 1971 Mercury Cougar which is in very good, solid condition. Has only small rust on the top fenders where a a leak in the garage resulted in water pooling. Otherwise, the car is in very good condition, low miles, and can be driven anywhere. There is also some rust on the rear wheel openings, but is an easy fix.
Has the 351 Cleveland V8 engine (I believe) and starts, runs and drives just fine. I put a new alternator n the car yesterday and a new battery as it has been stored for years. The wheels are not original, but I have the original wheels, with tires, and hubcaps should you want them instead. The car has had all its essential fluids and filters changed, has just had a major tune-up and is ready for a new owner's enjoyment.
It's a very nice car with original Philco radio, very good interior (needs nothing) and is a very good example of a muscle/luxury car from the 1970's. The starting price is well below book value and on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the highest, I would rate the car a 7 or 8. Not a show car, but very good driver quality car. It had been raining here so when I took it out of storage, it picked up some road grime but it is very clean now.
I would appreciate a deposit upon your winning the auction, and you can contact me for information. The car is in covered storage and can be left for an indefinite time after full payment with no storage fees. Of course, I will cooperate with your shipper to load the car. Should you desire to, you can fly in and drive it home. I would pick you up at the airport. Thanks for looking and bidding. I do not use PayPal because of the fees.
