Description
I bought this car in 2003 from a friend in Santa Rosa, who was thesecond owner, with his grandma being the first. I spent many years, timeand money learning how to restore a car. Probably didn't get as far as Iwould have liked, but that's part of the process.
It's now time to sell and like others I will take a loss, I do hope Ican get another Cougar enthusiast to buy it and finish off therestoration. I should have known I bite off more than I could chew as afirst timer looking to restore a car.
That said, here is the basic information from the 68 Cougar:
Dataplate Information: 8R93J510922
Year: 1968
Assembly Plant: San Jose, California
Body: XR7, Hardtop
Engine: 302-4V
Unit Number: 10922
Exterior Color: Augusta Green Poly.
Interior Color: Med. Saddle Levant Grain Vinyl & Med. Saddle Leather
Date Codes: 24 January

Axle Codes: 3.50 Non-locking
Transmission Codes: C-4 Automatic
You can read the For Sale post on my website about the 68 Cougar. Included at the bottom of this post is a zip file with 30 additional pictures of the Cougar.
The car is currently located in Oakley, California that is about 45minutes east of San Francisco. The Cougar is NOT drivable, as therebuilt engine sits on an engine stand in the garage, while the car istarped and covered in the driveway.
I am asking a price of $5500 for EVERYTHING related to the car. Allidentification numbers match. Some other highlights of the car from myCraigslist post:
After 11 years and $15k, I am out of time to invest into thisrestoration. The front and rear end are completely rebuilt, as are all 4drum brakes. There is a new drive shaft and the automatic C4transmission was rebuilt a few years back. I have assorted NIB partsincluding carpet kit, Flaming River steering column and radiator.
The 302-4v (now 350 HP) was completely rebuilt on the original block byAaron at Bad-Ass Engines in Sonoma. The exhaust system was rebuiltincluding dual Flowmaster mufflers and chromed exhaust tips. Headerswere plated as well.
