Description
For Sale is this Numbers Matching 1967 Mercury Cougar XR-7. This car is highly optioned with factory A/C (updated to R-134a due to it spending most of its life in California.) Completely Rust-free and never wrecked. All body lines and gaps are straight! I purchased the car from my Step-Father in 2011 and had it hauled to Virginia from the California desert. Performance upgrades include Holley 650 Carb, Weiand intake manifold, long tube headers with Flowmaster mufflers, 3-row Champion aluminum radiator, and MSD coil,. New vacuum tubes throughout and the vacuum assist headlight covers are operational. This was the only year for the vacuum headlight covers as they were changed to electric motors in 68. All work performed by ASE Certified technician. The original motor was rebuilt with around 80k miles and now has 28k on the odometer. Recently replaced items include all new door and body gaskets, door sill plates, sequential turn signals, power steering pump (I have the original), brakes/fluid. It has American Racing wheels on it, but I do have the original GT factory wheels and center caps. Relatively low production numbers with only 1,442 still driving today according to the Cougar Registry. These cars are climbing in value and in rarity. I have never seen another in the DC metro area. This will certainly be a great investment, but I have too many projects and have to let it go. See the attached link for the YouTube video.
