Marti Report
I got the Cougar in 2011. The previous owner got the car from Arizona, and he told me it was restored about 5 years before I got it.
Since I have had the Cougar, the following was done to it. I have receipts for everything listed.
- new starter, alternator, and voltage regulator
- dash rewired and new circuit board - all gauges work (the speedometer needs to be calibrated, and the clock does not work)
- door locks fixed
- top adjusted
- new power top hydraulic cylinders and lines
- new Custom Autosound AM/FM stereo, fits without having to cut the dash
- new speakers
- new radiator
- new front end
- new power steering pump, box, and cylinder
- new heater switch (heater works, but windshield defroster doesn’t)
- new transmission filter and fluid flush
The car runs good and is driven almost every day. I use it to get to work (8 miles one way). It starts on the first try almost every time. The power top works good, but there is a slow hydraulic fluid leak. There are slow oil, transmission fluid, and power steering fluid leaks, a slow vacuum leak in the headlight covers, and oil in the radiator. Sometimes, in hot weather, the transmission does not shift right.
The paint is in good condition and the body and underside are very solid. The interior is also good, but not perfect, and there is a large crack in the dash.
If you have any questions, need more pictures, or want to see or drive the Cougar call Danny at 713-705-4826.
