2006 Mercury Grand Marquis LS
~115,900 miles
For sale is my 2006 Mercury Grand Marquis LS. I have owned this car since November of 2013 and it has been the most reliable car I have ever owned, I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere today. The reason for selling is that this car no longer fits my needs. Classic American V-8 powered rear wheel drive full size sedan. Automatic transmission.
About the car:
The good: Body is straight and in good shape for an almost 12-year-old car. Car has been maintained consistently with regular oil changes and services as needed (service records included). The exterior is a bronze/tan color while the inside is a light tan leather. The interior presents well for its age is quite comfortable. Original manuals, two keys and three fobs are included as well as the keyless entry code. Had tune up and transmission flushed about a year ago.
The not as good: Middle armrest up front is worn and could stand a cover or replacement. The cup holder assembly is missing parts. Both could be sourced relatively inexpensively from a junk yard or online. The ac has worked intermittently. I believe that it is the EATC module that needs the rubber o-rings replaced with silicone ones. I could not locate the silicone ones earlier this year, so used the rubber ones. This fixed the ac for a short time (1-2 weeks) and then went back to the default defrost (google eatc module repair). Seatbelt pre-tensioner needs to be replaced as well. This causes the SRS light to come on and chime intermittently while driving, seatbelts still work as intended, Ford does not stock this part anymore so I never got it fixed. My brother bumped into me at a traffic light a few years ago and had rear bumper professionally replaced (receipt included). While this car is not perfect, it is still an excellent driver. I wanted to be upfront with full disclosure about the not so good.
Overall this is a very solid car that can be driven for another 10 years as is at a very low cost of service and depreciation. Excellent value for the price. Take care of AC and seatbelt pre-tensioner and drive for Lyft or Uber (car qualifies for both in most areas) and get massively good ratings! Compare the quality of this car and mileage with comparable cars at this price point, and this Mercury provides better value for your money. Title in hand and ready to sell.
Thanks for looking!
