Description
1970 Mercury Marauder X-100
Barn Find -- Great Project Car.
Very rare car.
Condition
Mechanical:
Car started and ran on fuel from the tank for the first time in 30 years.
Points were replaced in order to start engine.
Leaked fuel on top of engine block, will need new fuel line.
Pulley for water pump was sized.
Everything is As-Is.
Will need new tires, fuel lines, vacuum lines, wires, fluids, brakes etc.
Odometer reads 53,240. Has likely rolled over at least once. Probably has 153,000.
Exterior:
Body is is decent condition for its age, with surprisingly little rust.
Under the car has rust consistent with a 48+ year-old car.
Car is fairly dirty making it hard to see rust. It was kept in a barn for about 30 years, somewhat protecting it from the elements.
Car is a "Metallic Green". Would look much better with new paint.
Has a Vinyl Hardtop.
Car lights are intact.
All body panels are there except for the rear fender skirts, a x-100 option.
Grille has some missing bars.
Large dent in front.
Most of the trim is still intact. At least one piece of chrome trim is missing on the rear fin.
Glass is in good shape.
Original wheels were damaged years ago. Two original wheels are included with four aftermarket steel wheels. All wheels are 15 inch. Will need new tires.
Interior:
Interior is in decent shape, except for being dirty.
Vinyl seats are in good shape, with discoloring on the headrests and armrests.
Cracking in steering wheel, possibly dashboard.
Note: Car was apparently involved in an accident once and was repaired.
