We are very excited to offer this 1956 Mercury Monterey sport coupe finished in a beautiful two-tone scheme of Carousel Red and Classic White.
This Mercury was originally a Florida car brought to Canada several years ago. The restoration has held up well. The interior is finished in a complementary Red/White custom cloth & vinyl. The body is smooth and straight with no rust bubbling or accident damage.
The car is optioned with a 312 cubic inch V8 engine, boasting 9.00:1 compression. Also a single 4-barrel carburetor and dual exhaust creating 235 horsepower using the three speed Merc-o-Matic transmission.
Options on the car include: Padded dash, Radio, Clock, Stainless steel rocker panel moldings, Rear stone guards, Fender skirts, Windshield washer, Dual exhaust, Heater/defroster, and Air Conditioning!
This Mercury is fitted with an attractive set of original Mercury Head hubcaps.
This restoration was completed in the mid 1980's. The paint does have some flaws, chips and touch ups. Stainless steel and chrome trim are of excellent driver quality. Shiny, smooth to the touch. The finish is bright and free of defects like heavy pitting.
The engine compartment has been nicely detailed. The car has a twelve volt charging system with its battery relocated to the trunk. The undercarriage has
a layer of undercoating. Upon visual inspection the suspension, steering as well as the body mounts, bushings, brake hoses, and exhaust system appear to be in fair condition.
