Description

This west coast 1952 Mercury Monterey 4 door sedan is a semi-daily driver rolling on upgraded radial white walls, newly rebuilt transmission with overdrive and transmission cooler, rebuilt radiator, rebuilt 4V carb and freshly lined gas tank. Anyimperfections are the result of surviving 63 years of sun, wind, andrain. I have owned her since 2005.

BODY: The body is very straight with no dents or dings. There is somevery light bubbling of paint where the rear doors meet the rear wheelwells (see pictures), but is 99% rust free. The paint is in prettydecent shape and shines up like a champ. All exterior chrome and trim iscomplete. Very little to no pitting of taillight housing as is commonin this model. The hood is a little finicky to seat straight andrequires some finessing, and there is some touch up paint in the insidecorners of the hood. All locks and door latches are operable.

GLASS: All glass is complete and free of any major cracks, or scratches. The window weatherstripping/seals are drying and cracking in somespots, especially around the rear window (see pics), so the rear dashhas some water damage.

INTERIOR: Interior upholstery is all original and in good condition. Thefloor carpet is a replacement kit in great condition. Seats are good. The door panels have some discoloration from age (see pictures) and thearm rests are worn. The headliner is is good condition with no rips ortears, very slight sagging in spots, and some discoloration from aging(see pictures). All interior chrome/trim is complete and in good shape.Ol' fashioned Mercury suicide knob lets you swing this baby around like apro.

ELECTRICAL: 12V system upgrade by previous owner with all non-essentialwiring left the original cotton-loom variety, early 90's cassette playerAM/FM radio. Headlights and interior lights are operable, all lensespresent. Brake lights need re-wired.

MECHANICAL: 302 Windsor style engine is an early 70's transplant thatgets up and goes. She is a weekend driver around town. I have upgraded to Edelbrockperformer intake manifold with freshly rebuilt Edelbrock 4V 650 CFMcarb. Custom fabricated shift linkage to the freshly rebuilt Ford AODOVERDRIVE TRANSMISSION. Transmission cooler with new steel lines. Stillneeds speedo cable. Radiator was rebuilt a few years back, but can stillrun hot here in the desert. Fresh re-lined original gas tank.Fresh spark plugs and wires. Cherry bomb style dual exhaust with deepmellow sound. Original drum brakes all around. Original rear-end.

All in all this is a great looking and solid blast from the past thatyou can have fun with, and makes a heck of a starting point if you wantto really restore or customize. I am selling only because I have my eyeon an F-100 truck that I've been lusting after. You know the deal
