Description
1953 Mercury Monterey in very good condition. car is from south Dakota still has dealer sticker on bumper. imported to Canada in early 90's and stored inside for all but 3 of those years.
The Bad:
no engine. was a flathead seized solid previous owner removed needs probably 5 body mounts repairedlook closely at the pictures, you will see the small spots that need some attention, other than that the car is very solidprevious owner scabbed some home made rocker panels on, they are covered by moulding but I would cut them out and replace with repro rockers.repair to right lower door ok and workable, I am fussy for clean metal so I would probably source a door
The Good:
solid car all considered. trunk floor has had a patchfloor sections have had patches fairly complete car brand new gas tank and sender new wheel cylinders, brakes do workoriginal paint on the bottom, i found mask lines on the rubber so i suspect the black roof was done after the factory
overall this is a great foundation to start with. i am only selling for one reason: i bought this to make a sunvalley glasstop out of it but my donor car and roof fell through. i am looking at a complete sunvalley project car which may work out better. had planned on an EFI 302 with overdrive. great ride painted up
