Description
This is a great example of a rotisserie, modernized Pre War Mercury, professionally built Street Rod. Originally a rust free frame and body, this 2nd year Mercury coupe was modified with a 302/300 HP Ford engine, a C4 Transmission and a GM 12 Bolt rear end and Mustang II front end. Also added was a Lokar shifter along with 11 inch Rotor Disc brakes. The exterior paint is black with blue/green metal flake and is absolutely flawless. The interior has dual power green leather buckets and rear bench seating with black leather inserts and the door panels mimic the same for a custom design. Care was taken to preserve the Art Deco originality of the dash finish and instruments. An old school Flaming River tilt steering wheel has a Winged Mercury horn button. Also added is Vintage Air, front seatbelts, tinted glass all around, and an AM/FM/CD player with power antenna.
Wide white wall radials are mounted on big and small steel wheels to accommodate original trim rings and center caps which set off this original style (but Street Rod in disguise) 2 door Mercury coupe. The most impressive part of this car is the superb paint job. The pictures do not do it justice as there are no marks, scratches, or issues with it. You can always see a '40 Ford at shows, but when is the last time you saw a '40 Mercury? This is truly a unique automobile!
