Description

What you see for Sale is one Rare Station Wagon !!
This is a Genuine Barn Find (Last Pics of the Barn it really came out of) One Family Owned 1957 Mercury Voyager 4 Door Hardtop Station Wagon with only 24424 Miles on the clock ( think its probably got 124424 but I have no way of confirming mileage sorry - the grandson said he told it had rolled over once !!
I bought it off the Grandson (he was in his 60s) of the Original Owner - it was bought new in Eureka California at McDuffie Motors by his Grandfather who bought it for a present for himself when he retired and it was absolutely his pride and Joy - he moved from Eureka to the Wine Country Area in Northern California when he retired and bought a little Farm / Vineyard to play with - sadly the Grandfather passed in 1983 - it was passed onto his Daughter - who didnt drive it - and it was parked in the Barn in 1983 and it hadnt been out of there until last week when we pulled it out of there - It was last registered in 1986 his Daughter had kept the registration up for a few years and then just let it slide after it hadnt been driven for 3 Years, Sadly Again the Daughter Passed Late Year and Farm has just been sold by the Grand Children and the Barn had to be emptied out of Cars and Tractors etc. It was Sold New in California and Never Left and Still Wears its Original Black Licence Plates
Now this Car is Most Definitely a Project Car - but its one well worth doing !!!
It has some Real Rare and Desirable Options - Being a 4 Door Hardtop to Start with is Rare as Mercury Only made for a Couple of Years - but it also has the Turnpike Cruiser 368 Y Block V8 Motor which was rated at 300 Horse Power which was alot of Horse Power in 1957 , Push Button Automatic Transmission, 9" Diff with Power Steering and Power Brakes & Even an Electric Front Bench Seat, it also has the 3rd Row of Seats with it so its a 9 Seater Wagon / so its a People Mover - but way better than just a Hyundai or Kia !!!
I have not tried to start it as yet - but I know you have heard this one before - it drove into the Barn in 1983 - the Motor Turns over fine - Oil look Clean - and it even still seemed to have a brake Pedal - I will attempt to start it up over the next few days - but like I say its a Project Car regardless - it will need to be Checked over and all Fluids Drained including Fuel Tank and I inspected the Brakes and its going to need Shoes and Wheels Cylinders for Sure but all the Drums where in Great Condition - and sure there will be some Suspenion and Exhaust Work to be complete before it will be ready to get back out in the Traffic.
All the Glass & Stainless Moudings are in Excellent Condition all Windows Roll up and Down (Note Rear Window Wind Down Handle is Broken but it still rolls down fine) and doors open and close great !!!
Both Front and Rear Bumpers will need Rechroming, The Body is Super Nice and Straight and is wearing its Original Paint never been in a Wreck or Touched up anywhere , and it has no Rust Holes on the Body anywhere that I could see but it sure does have some Surface Rust around the Car - but thats Great Patina - I pulled the Carpets out - and Floors are Real Nice - the Passengers Front Floor does have surface Rust and certainly no holes !!!
This Car needs restoring - but if you are into the Patina Look it would be a Real Easy Project and one well worth doing - It has a Clean California Title with no Back Fees Due - well and Truely out of the System
The Interior is like a time warp - its still got the Original Plastic over the Original Upolstery except for on the lower swab of the front Bench Seat and even though the Plastic has deteriorated and the mice have chewed a few holes in the seats - look at the Door Panels and Headliner - you could recover the Lower Portion of Front Bench Seat and throw in a Set of Carpets and your Interior is Done !!!
Note this Car will need to be Towed on a Trailer or Rollback as it is not running at this Time - its is Stored in a Warehouse in San Leandro California - book in your pre-purchase inspection today - inspection strictly Business Hours Monday to Friday by appointment only - Call Matt 562-225-0981 with any Questions - I strongly suggest you look at any car For Sale on the Internet in Person before bidding - not just this Car - I mean Every Car !!!
Note Car is Actually Located at a Professional International Car Shipping Business - They can Arrange Freight to Anywhere in the World - at Buyers Expense of Course !!!!
