Description
This 1978 MGB # GHN5UJ452399G has undergone a complete customrestoration. The project started with a very nice rust free AZ car and Ibought it from a dealer in June of 2013. I'm only selling it now because I justgot engaged and need to make room in the garage.
Its all aluminum 215 V8 was rebuilt using a rover 300 crank giving it260 cu in. An upgraded Iskenderian 262 cam was used for more power.Custom built jet hot coated headers exit through the inner fender. ACarter 4 barrel 560cfm carburetor resides under the K&N air filter.Engine is backed by a fully rebuilt Tremec T5 overdrive 5 speed manualtransmission with a Howe hydraulic ram. The rear end leaf spring mountswere boxed and traction bars were added to handle the extra power
The combination of the all aluminum v8 and 5 speed transmission is 60lbs. lighter than the original cast iron 4 cylinder and 4 speedtransmission. All of the suspension and brakes were rebuilt or replacedwith new parts. The car has a completely new wiring harness. Interior isgenuine leather and very nice.Dashboard is custom made of wood andhouses all new VDO gauges, though the odometer/speedo worksintermittently.I think there's a short somewhere. The title says ithas about 65,000 miles.
Custom sound system is very impressive and has an amp and sub woofer fora very full sound. The body is very good, totally rust free, withexcellent hood, door, and trunk gaps and alignment. Quality paint jobfully sanded and buffed in "Monza Red." All of the chrome and stainlesswas refinished. As you can see it was converted to steel bumpers for amore classic look. The windshield frame was polished as opposed to thebrushed original look. There is a small blemish on the rear bumper underthe license plate frame the size of a nickel that will not polish out, otherwise very nice. The tops of the door panels have some scratches andnicks but they are very minor.I've added a custom frame and tanTonneau canvas soft top with stow away bags.No bolt was left unturnedon this very nice restoration, not to mention it is quite fast and veryfun to drive.I have a thick folder of receipts and manuals from theprevious owner documenting the restoration.
The MG is located in Philadelphia and available for a test drive. Any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
Thanks.
