Description

Nice car, runs great. Believed to be a Southern California car. Car needs paint and some body work. Last paint shop did poor surface prep work.

Car has not been in any accidents since present owner took the car in 1980. Car was undriven from 1985 until 2010.

The engine was completely taken apart and re-built. The entire car was dismantled and re-built. The mechanics were told to keep, rehabilitate and re-use as many original parts as possible and parts that could be maintained. The emphassis was on keeping the car as original as possible, rather than making it a perfect show car.

All cockpit interior and windshield (not frame) was replaced. Dashboard and gauges were cleaned and rehabilitated; seats and seat-back cushions were replaced, new seat frames with slides, all new seat coverings and door and rear sitting/luggage compartment panels. Complete carpet throughout - floors, drive-train/transmission hump, rear sitting/luggage compartment (not boot), etc. Coordinated black with white piping.

Extras for new owner include: new black convertible soft-top, snaps and eyelets (all still in the box from Moss), original 2-piece folding frame (not fold-down) for the top, and windscreen wipers. Original rear boot lid was run over and destroyed by a body shop and replaced with one that can be made to fit better, or can be replaced. Boot lid is the only part of the car which is known to have any Bondo. All chrome body side trim is straight and true.

Re-build work was done by professionals during 11 to 12 years and cost approximately $18,000. There are more than 50 photos taken during the re-build to show much of the work that was performed. Photos will be sent on request.
Letting the car sit under a car-cover in a 3-sided enclosed carport 5 miles from the beach month after month is no good. Complete restoration can make this car a winner.

Total mileage is unknown, but estimated to be around 65,000 miles. The car has been driven less than 100 miles during the past 4 years.

Question: Was there a rear-end accident?
Answer: No. The photo of the car back-end shows the boot lid not fitting correctly.
