Description
1971 MG MGB ROADSTER GOOD DRIVER.Offered for sale is this very desirable chrome bumper MGB Roadster in a nice period color with the desirable wire wheels option. The car is showing it’s low miles and drives well.
The bodywork on this car is quite good. Panel gapping is nice. The driver’s door rear edge is a bit tight and could be adjusted forward. The car’s underside is very solid with only a few previous repairs showing, but it’s mostly good and rust free. The car recently received a repaint to a fairly nice standard. Chrome work in decent shape. The car could use some body rubber gaskets renewing, as most of the originals have now hardened up. The windshield is decent and is the original Triplex item.
The car’s interior is very original but could use a few simple repairs. The dashtop pad is showing a few cracks. They could be repaired by a dashboard specialist or simply a cap could be installed. The headrests need some simple stitch repair as well as a pleat in the passenger’s seat, but they are all the original items…The steering wheel and armrest are nice. The carpets have been renewed. The car’s top looks quite decent along with a good original top boot.
Mechanically, the car drives very well along the road and feels at home with smooth tires, good brakes, suspension, engine, gearbox. The car’s battery has been moved into the trunk which was a common conversion for a 12V unit. The engine bay is clean.
Overall, A good driving, low mileage and attractive MGB chrome bumper roadster needing some minor cosmetic touches.
Consider this - no smog required and insurable as a classic - only $125 per quarter!
