Description

THIS IS A CAR FOR DRIVING. IT CAN BECOME A SHOW CAR WITH WORK.
Nice little car, runs great. Owned by one individual since about 1980. It is believed to be a Southern California car. Car has been re-built 90%-95% during the past 12 years by professional mechanics. Drive the car and put the final work into it to make it a real show car. There are plenty of photos taken during the re-build to show some of the work performed. Among other things, the engine was completely re-built and the camshaft was replaced with a "beefier" one that boosted the horsepower. There's a brand new battery in the car.
The extras to complete the car will be providedlike the new convertible top fabric, the 2-piece frame for the top, and the wipers. Time to do some paint and body work now, especially the rear boot lid. The original lid was destroyed by a body shop. They replaced the ruined lid with one that's not quite right. That's one of the main reasons the asking price is low.
The Owner is permanently handicapped now and admits he's ready to let a new owner take over the enjoyment of a real British classic car from the 60's. Letting the car just sit under a car-cover in a carport month after month is no good.
If a "100-Point" restoration was to be completed, the car could bring as much as $32,000 at sale or classic car auction according to N.A.D.A. This car has "pop-out" door handles which was a unique design for the year.
The website of the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) says this make and year of car in an "average condition" has a value of $15,100. Refer to "nadaguides" under the sub-heading of classic cars, the year, MGB, and Mark I model.
The car has been driven less than 100 miles in the past 4 years.
Work on the car over this coming summer and winter and be ready to drive it to the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance along 17 Mile Drive at Monterey next Spring. Can you imagine the fun, the people, the other outrageous motorcars, the champagne, the ambiance?
Or race this little gem at Laguna Seca Vintage Car Races in Sonoma. You probably won't win a race, but you might pass a few cars going around the track while their radios are screeching classical music and the co-pilots are drinking.
This car brings out certain feelings by owning it. Lots of people comment when they see you drive by. You have to own and drive the car to understand.

Known "issues": over-heating on hot days sitting at long traffic signals; and a non-working fuel gauge.

How many actual miles are on the car is unknown, so the mileage shown in this advertisement is inaccurate.

Send questions; and then come test drive it.
