Description
1973 MGB with blue label 5 speed overdrive transmission. This beautiful B was purchased on 5/15/1973 by a Stockton CA MD. (Door plaque shows completion date of 12/1972). It was purchased at Stockton British Cars and spent its first 10+ years in sunny Stockton. Subsequent owners have lived in the California Foothills. When I purchased this B it was in need of a complete makeover but the body was solid with no damage and very minimal surface rust in the trunk. There is no cancer whatsoever. The owner had stated the motor had been rebuilt approximately 15K miles ago and it ran strong. This car was restored to keep but I have too many cars. Extensive 1 year restoration completed 10//2010 with the best parts available. NOS, England, E Bay Motors, and Moss. All work was done by a professional auto body - paint, mechanic and upholstery. This car has been driven less than 950 miles since the restoration and was just driven 80 miles with smooth sailing. The following is what has been done - The entire exterior was stripped to bare metal by Folsom Auto Body & Paint. Painted Cerulean Blue metallic clear coat (a Lexus color) paint tone changes under different lighting conditions. Body is laser straight, new moldings show quality paint job. Transmission was upgraded to a blue label 5 speed overdrive. Almost all interior and exterior parts are either new or NOS and are in excellent condition with the exception of the original side mirrors, rear bumper, and original luggage rack: which are in very good condition. New windshield, visors, dash cover, top, tires, center console & lid, seat foam, leather seats, NOS speedometer, NOS temperature gauge, NOS fuel gauge, new door and truck locks, new interior panels, new carpet, new English tail lights, new fur flex seals and truck seal, new front bumper and new over riders, new front valance, etc. There is nothing that has been overlooked. Strong engine and transmission, new head gasket, new starter, new solenoid, new motor mounts, new electronic ignition, new wires, new radiator, complete new braking system, complete new Monza type exhaust, good shocks and good wire wheels. Just installed new battery and new cables, this car has not been waxed. Undercarriage is awesome! This is my third restoration on a chrome bumper MGB. This car is believed to have all original body parts except front left fender and hood. There is minor surface rust at the bottom of the truck due to standing water while left outside (oops). Entire engine compartment was not repainted during restoration and bottom of trunk was not prepped as it should have been. Everything else was excellently painted. Car comes with old tonneau cover & top frame cover, jack and spare wire wheel. There are three minor blemishes on the dash. I have done my best to explain the restoration and have chosen photos to show all aspects of this car. The seller is not responsible for any errors or omissions. Car comes as is, no warranties expressed or implied.
