Description

I've been an MG enthusiast my entire adult life and I purchased this nice, solid, and straight red '69 CGT in 2000 from the California owner (had it trailer-shipped to PA) and I've thoroughly enjoyed owning it since. I've put a total of appx 13K miles on it in 20 yrs. Current PA Classic Car registration. Recently lost my garage space for it, so now my loss is your gain. NOT a trailer queen. A nice, vintage, solid example of the rare MGC GT with the straight 6. Overdrive works great and the car tracks well at speed. Mileage is believed to be correct/true. Recently drove it from Harrisburg PA to Philly on the PA turnpike-Car drove nicely as it always has w/lots of looks! Stainless steel exhaust. Installed electronic ignition about 10 yrs ago for better reliability. Aside from that, pretty original and non-restored under the hood. Oil pressure always good, water temp generally sits just a hair above N, and car has never overheated- even on hot summer days. Has the usual slow drip of oil from under engine as to be expected with the older Brits, but has never noticeably affected oil level or pressure. Brakes and clutch are functionally fine. Nice Moto Lita steering wheel shows well and affords a little additional legroom for driver.Car will need current state inspection. I expect it may need some brake work as I am starting to hear some noise upon pedal push (car stops fine). Noticing an air leak from left rear tube/tire- will need patched or replaced. A bit of lifting of the dash where it meets the windshield area. Original color was red as it is now, and car had a respray at some point prior to my owning it. Would say a B job. Cosmetically the car shows well as a Driver, but as I said, is not perfect: Will need some attn to the lip area just under the rear hatch window seal where some rust has formed. Does not effect hatch operation or closure. Locks work fine all around as do windows. Door close solidly as they should. A few spots of rust-through in the front driver side lower rocker panel (see pic). Floors are solid with only some SURFACE rust here and there. Some surface rust in spare tire area. Aluminum bonnet has a section at the front (fist size) where paint has simply flaked off (covered by red tape in pic). Small ding on front valence which is hidden by front license plate-Nothing functionally wrong.
I am hoping another enthusiast can enjoy this classic as much as I have!
