Description

A lovely example of a future Classic MGF Steptronic, Stepspeed, Auto, CVT . . . .
In the rare combination of Alumina green, green roof and with a glass rear window.
Its currently showing 48806 on the clock and comes with every MOT ticket since its very first one in 2003.
There is also a bundle of service receipts including a £2000+ bill for a gearbox overhaul.
I bought this earlier in the year as a stopgap, while my Land Rover Discovery was temporarily off the road having a few jobs done. They're more or less complete now so the MGF is surplus to requirements.
When I initially bought the car I was aware of the potential head gasket issues related to coolant problems on these K Series engines so I drained and flushed the system, fitted a new aluminium radiator and replaced the inlet manifold gasket. I then refilled with fresh coolant making good use of both bleeding points. The other main issue that I addressed was to drain and refill with the correct Esso/BMW red transmission fluid.
She is by no means mint, there are wear and tear marks and "dinks" here and there if you look for them and the rear arches are just starting to bubble. The seats are in very good order with just a little wear to the leather finish on the outside edge of the drivers seat but it is not holed or worn through.
I've done around 2000 miles in the 5 months I've owned her, mainly to and from work but with a few "roof-down trips out in the sun". Wether using the leisurely attributes of these great littltle CVT boxes or making enthusiastic progress with the Steptronic function; which on this one includes the steering wheel shifters, its been a fun little car to own and drive.
If I could afford to run two vehicles I would not hesitate to keep her.
Viewing is welcome and encouraged as the car is to be strictly sold as seen.
