Description
This MG TC has had
one owner since 1985. Restoration was commissioned to Richard Carr of
Carrestorations in Louisa Va. The engine and transmission were rebuilt by Jim
Swinson at British Car Services in Midlothian Va. The car is all original except for a few parts
acquired from Moss Motors and The Frame Up shop in Arizona. This 1948 MG TC is finished in white over tan
and is powered by a 1250cc XPAG inline-four mated to a four-speed manual
transmission. It has a good soft top,
side curtains and tonneau cover.
Dash gauges and components were done by The Whitworth Shop. A Tompkins steering kit that consists of a machined and polished aluminum casting which houses a roller thrust bearing and spacer has been added to the steering. The clutch push rod has been replaced; the new unit has adjusting capabilities.
The car has been driven very little since the restoration every effort has been made to upgrade the mechanical condition. The owner has a medical condition that does not allow him to drive the car, he recommends having it inspected upon arrival before getting on the road.
The car can be viewed in Richmond VA if an appointment is made in advance.
You may talk to the restorer, Mr. Carr if you request his phone number.
