Description
BEFORE YOU BID: Ebay users with low-no feedback please contact me letting me know your true interest or your bids will be deleted. I am forced to do this as I have been getting bids from fake accounts recently, which are a waste of time and listing fees since they sometimes win auctions.
This listing is for an original non-revinned Italian built 1974 Innocenti Mini 1000 Export. I acquired this car in 2015 and imported it to California from Italy, it was made CARB Compliant upon entry and is California legal. It runs great and has always been garaged. I have kept it mostly in it's original configuration to preserve historical value, including the original color "Bianco Avorio" (Ivory White), steel rims and drum brakes. Innocentis are quite rare, accounting for about 1/6th of all classic Minis built. They were considered to have a better build quality and nicer trim and interiors compared to British Minis. The 998 versions such as this one came with a 56BHP Cooper spec Engine (D-Top pistons and 12g295 Head), they were faster than their British counterparts and came with stock left hand drive. Clutch type is pre-verto.
This car underwent a partial restoration since I've owned it which included the following work:
- New KYB Gas-a-just dampers, front and rear.
- Front and rear suspension doughnuts were replaced with mildly used ones (I avoid installing brand new ones as they ride too high for the first several thousand miles until they settle)
- New steering rack
- New flex brake hoses
- New brake shoes (brakes are drums all around per original spec)
- New ignition switch
- New ignition solenoid
- New Aldon electronic ignition replacing the old points type ignition.
- New spark plug and distrubutor leads
- New door seals
- Rebuilt Brake cylinders (masters and slaves)
- Rebuilt Clutch cylinders (master and slave) and new hose
- Rebuilt Cylinder Head with new valves and new hardened inserts for unleaded fuel. New head gasket. The head is the orginal rare 12G295 which was tested for cracks. it's in exceptional shape.
- New Minispares Stage 1 Kit (RC40 exhaust, K&N air filter, inlet manifold). The original inlet-exhaust manifold is included with the car as well as the exhaust system (a catalyst converter was welded to it to pass California smog certification)
- Carburetor was serviced and new jet and needle were installed
- New bearings and suspension ball joints all around
- New suspension bushings all around
- New uprated water pump
- New door seals
- New tail lights
- New Falken Tires
- New Fiberglass boot lid, Innocenti style.
Disclosures:
The car is not perfect, there are a few defects in the paint work here and there, although there is no deep rust anywhere. Interior is decent, although the driver seat has some tears and should be restored. some of the interior plastics have cracks. The engine does have minor oil leaks like most classic minis. Although it runs great, it could benefit from an overhaul, except for the cylinder head that has been rebuilt and only has about 1000 miles on it. The engine bay was never repainted and paint is flaking in spots. Odometer reads 59,717 Km, I have no means to verify that this is true on such an old car. The car is registered as "Lylin" which is a mis-spelling of "Leyland" by the DMV. I never had trouble insuring it and could never be bothered to have it rectified. The car also comes with the original italian papers from 1974. California title is clean.
Payment must have cleared before I sign over the pink slip or the car gets picked up. The car is also listed elsewhere so I reserve the right to end the auction if the car sells outside of Ebay. I do not offer shipping, sorry, local pickup only. If you wish to have it shipped you will need to arrange for shipping and pick-up yourself.
The car is smog exempt
