Description

Its 1275cc engine (the largest from the factory) has the 90-hp (at flywheel) engine upgrades so it’s very quick – but still docile enough for everyday use. A stock 1275cc puts out ~65-70 hp, so the extra (claimed) 20-25hp makes a huge difference – particularly considering classic Minis weigh only 1,500 lbs!
This very clean Cooper-style Mini looks very sharp — the hard-to-find (purplish-burgundy) color is called Amaranth Metallic and is accented with a contrasting silver roof and twin silver rearview mirrors and bonnet stripes. Factory left-hand-drive (LHD) steering. Has 33k pampered miles. Inside and out, it’s in like-new condition. Paint is excellent and interior is unmarked. Always garaged. Zero rust – and never had any. No evidence of any prior collision damage. Fully freeway-capable; cruises at 70-plus mph – without even breathing hard!
Exterior:
Upgrades include 12″ Ultralight (8-spoke) alloys w/ Yokohama rubber, twin silver mirrors, alloy flip-top fuel filler, quad driving lights in front, roof-mount antenna, and fully adjustable suspension with Spax shocks.
Interior:
Leather upholstery w/ flecked cloth inserts is in like-new condition. New wood dash and white-face gauges. Like virtually all classic Minis, there is no air conditioning, but has twin fresh-air dash vents. For additional ventilation, the side rear windows pop outward. Three-point retractable seat belts in front and rear. Rear window defogger. Alloy door furniture. Remote control immobilizer and alarm system.
Under bonnet:
As part of the 90-hp engine upgrades, there’s an aftermarket, low-restriction performance Pipercross air filter and Maniflow exhaust system and alloy rocker cover. For more reliability, has breakerless electronic ignition.
Manual transmission is the four-speed, four-synchro, “rod shift” (stronger, smoother shifting) model.
California titled since 2002 and currently registered. If you care for such things, it reportedly gets 35 mpg…
