Description
Thanks for taking a look at my Auction for my beloved FTO!
This is my 3rd FTO as I absolutely love them, if you're looking at this you probably love them too! I only purchased this car about a month ago and have been enjoying it constantlybut then I accepted a new job and have been given a company car. Part of me was toying with keeping as a second car as the company one will be boring as hell, or even just storing it for a year and seeing what happens, but that seems a waste as this machine deserves to be enjoyed by someoneI

Mitsubishi FTO GPX, 2.0L V6 24v 200bhp
Dashboard reads 116xxx miles on it, of course the mileage is a lot less than that as until it was imported into this country it was in KM. I estimated it to be around 75-80k through previous paperwork.
Car has had a lot of recent servicing and money spent on it in last 6 months. CAMBELT has been changed and doesn't want doing for another 40,000 miles. MOT till May next year. Lots of paperwork I'd invite you to sift though if you so wished. Also has a COBRA alarm fitted which is Thatcham cat 1 approved and brings the insurance down. Recently had new break pads, new alternator belt, new power steering belt, new bushes, and everything else you'd expect when servicing.
2x keys and alarm blippers. Nice touch - when you remotely lock the car it also does all the windows up!
MIVEC is the same as VTEC, when you get to a certain rev level VTEC kicks in and it monsters up, goes faster and sounds amazing! FTO GR's/GS's/GX's don't have this system, personally I don't think their worth buying!
The car has a MIVEC controller on the dash board (picture 6), to my understanding these are fairly expensive to buy and have fitted. Basically it allows you to alter the level at which the MIVEC system engages. Personally I've not played around with it, don't no how to use it so haven't tried. I don't think anybody has really used it as MIVEC still kicks in at the same point as my other FTO's did. But if you like stuff that lights up and flashes different numbers up and gives the occasional bleep then you'd appreciate it!
Stainless Steel POWERFLOW exhaust has been fitted, makes a lovely V6 noise, but not a nasty loud chav-style noise, this just sounds fantastic!
The car has got 17" black alloys on it which look great with the grey, and the tyres have good tread on them. Although being totally honest, if I was keeping the car longer I'd change the tyres as their a bit too budget for my liking!
The car did have the GPvR spoiler on it, however it was rotting away and was pretty close to going through someone's windscreen when I went over a bump, so I've fitted the original spoiler to the car, I think it looks loads better for it too, but for me the big advantage was it being held the boot with bolts as opposed to what looked like chewing gum that someone else had chosen to use on the old one. Unfortunately this change over damaged to paint slightly on the boot, and there are 2 10p sized areas that you might want to give some attention.
There is also an APEXI induction kit fitted to the car, gives a nice noise. Other modifications are a digital speedo that you can see in the second-to-last photo, no idea why it's there as it's quite unnecessarylooks kind of cool though. MOMO steering wheel, metal pedal covers, think that's about it.
I've just put a Pioneer stereo in it, good stereo with Bluetooth calls and streaming. Really I wanted to put a double din touch screen in it, would have looked fantastic.
Conditiondon't expect a new car, it's a 1997 car! I believe the best policy for cars is honesty, as nobody will buy a car without coming to see it, so might as well tell you now! That said a few people have remarked how good to paint is on it. A lot of FTO's suffer from rust bubbles on the roof and rear wheel arches. This one doesn't! HOWEVER. it does have a aprox 4" dent on the rear quarter pannel, no paint broken and easily sorted. Yes, the bonnet has some chips as does the front bumper. There is an aftermarket front bumper lip fitted on it, looks quite good I think and their on sale on ebay for £250, but it is scruffy and if you were keeping it could do with spraying - or simply and probably more easily, removing! Talking of removing, something very minor is the blacked out rear window, it's starting to peel in places from the sunlight, personally I'd just remove it, but might look good if you got it done properly.
Mechanics / etc ..Engine pulls like a train and doesn't skip a beat, these engines are known for going on, and on, and on.etc! Air-con needs re-gassing. It wasn't an MOT issue but it's damn annoying in my humble opinion, depends how picky you areincluded in the sale are two replacement rear shock absorbers and two new rear drop links. You will not find an FTO that hasn't wanted for new drop links before, its a common issue. So these parts are included, if I was even slightly mechanically minded I'd fit them - but I'm not! All FTO's suffer from tappets being a bit tappy after a while, lesser models have to just put up with it, but the GPX had adjustable tappets built in meaning they can be made quieter, these aren't that bad really, can normally here them for about 5 mins in the morning, once its heated up you won't hear them again all day.
I've been as honest as I can about everything here, if you have any other questions, or you fancy coming to take a look and a spin please feel free to message me or give me a call on 07500 888231. I've taken what I consider needs doing and reflected it in the price and this really is a bargain for the car, but as I said no point in keeping as I've got the boring company car on it's way :(
