MITSUBISHI JEEP J55 WILLYS 2.7 TURBO DIESEL 4X4 SOFT TOP ON OFF ROAD
This is my 4x4 soft-top J55 Jeep made by Mitsubishi under licence from Jeep. It is based on a CJ3 (think Willys WW2), but over the years Mitsubishi has updated the engine. This model is the best and most powerful in the line-up with a 2700cc Mitsubishi Turbo Diesel with Intercooler (also common to Mitsubishi light trade vehicles). The mileage is also very low at only 47000 and the Jeep is in very good condition throughout.
Please note: This is a J55 model and has a much higher specification than the older and inferior J53, J58 and J59 models.
My Jeep was imported from Japan and registered in the UK July 2009. It has had a new high quality black mohair soft-top made and fitted, and the vehicle has been fully under-sealed throughout. It also has a very rare Overdrive option. This is a fantastic addition, meaning you can engage overdrive in any gear, lowering the overall gearing by around 20%. This means you can cruse comfortably on a motorway and at the same time it makes it even more economical to run. Of course it also has the full traditional Jeep low and high ratio transfer box and 4 or 2 wheel drive options. I have also had fitted 4 new 31” BF Goodrich All Terrain tyres with less than 1000 miles on them. These wheels and tyres give the jeep a much better stance. It also has two 4 point seatbelts in the back seats plus it comes with a made to measure, quick to fit, tonneau cover for if you want to park it with the roof off and you think it just might rain. It has been serviced by a local non-franchise garage without any problem and it has a nearly full MOT.
Please note, as a 1997 model this was one of the last in a production run of some 200,000 vehicles and with the Intercooler Turbo engine (only available in the J55) it is the most powerful in the line-up by far. This together with the addition of the Overdrive makes this a truly great, fun and economical car to drive. You can fully remove the doors and soft-top and even fold the windscreen flat for that full WW2 Willys Jeep experience.
This is a 1st time start / reliable / fun vehicle, in excellent condition.
