Vehicle Original VIN : HE94918
Gateway Classic Cars of Milwaukee is proud to present this 1940 Nash Lafyette. The Nash Motors Company was founded in 1916 in Kenosha Wisconsin and continued as America's last independent auto manufacturer until 1987 when the Chrysler Corporation bought out American Motors. Over the years Nash innovated many key automotive features still used on cars today like unibody construction, heating and ventilation systems and the compact car. In 1954 Nash merged with Detroit's Hudson Motors. This merger created the new American Motors and was the largest corporate merger in US history at the time.
Our featured Nash resto mod has been customized with many features making the car a dream to drive. Updated with a 400ci Ford V-8 engine paired to a 3-speed Ford FX automatic transmission. The car is equipped with a 2.71:1 rear end and front disc brakes. The chassis is a '40 Nash with a modified 2" X 4" box tube front frame. Front suspension is from a Mustang II and rear suspension is '69 Mustang leaf spring. The Dark plum metallic paint stands on its own as all chrome has been deleted on the car making the body lines stand out. The car is sitting on 15" Billet Specialties 3-Spoke aluminum rims mated to Cooper Cobra tires and a matching 2-soke Billet steering wheel. The car features many hot-rodding tricks like frenched dual power antennas, a 3' chopped top, louvered side panels under the hood, Frenched headlight, taillights and front maker lights. Other features in the body are the custom fuel door, running boards and a third brake light Frenched in between the split rear window. Inside the car the features and creature comforts are endless. The interior is finished in a mauve tweed material. All four bucket seats adjust and recline, there is a built-in center console with cup holders and an ice chest. For extra comfort, the car is equipped with air conditioning and heat, tilt steering column, seat belts, a Kenwood sound system and CB radio! Take a ride in this unique hot rod!
