Description

Rare roll top convertible with a mostly stock body, but completely modernized mechanicals and interior. 6 cyl 2.8 liter Camaro 60 degree fuel injected V-6 with matching overdrive transmission. Front suspension with rack & pinion steering from a Nissan 280Z. Vintage AC and heater. Built to be modern driver (easy to forget you are in a 60+ year old car). Very tight due to the fact that this was originally a unibody car that has undergone additional stiffening, including a 5-point roll cage that is hidden by following the lines of the window framing.
Painted in strawberry red with beige accents. Body is laser straight with a deep clear coat, although there are a few minor blemishes in the paint (noting that the car was built to be driven). Excellent panel gaps - doors and trunk close perfectly.
All chrome redone to high standards, including deep polishing of most of the stainless and non-chrome brightwork.
The interior was taken down to bare metal and is completely custom with a mix of leather and vinyl. Six-way power driver's seat, tilt wheel, and AC help make the car a comfortable driver. The top is power operated using the factory original cable system. Window mechanisms rebuilt and operate smoothly, with all new rubber moldings. Factory gauges rebuilt and both work and look new. Additional set of gauges hidden behind an electrically operated panel on the right side of the dash.
Recent Coker wide white radial tires mounted on factory rally wheels with period correct center hubcaps.
I will try to list the flaws of the car, but invite you (or someone on your behalf) to come drive the car - I'm proud of both the way it looks and drives. There's a chip in the back of the steering wheel (I wouldn't mention except you can feel it if your hand is in the right position). There's some light checking on the paint on the hood that can be seen in certain light, along with a couple visible scuffs in the paint near the bottom of the rear right rocker. The side mirror has some light pitting (the type seen throughout the bright metal of the vast majority of restored cars, but it bothers me because of the high quality of the rest of the chrome). Its a little louder than I'd like (you may want to add a resonator to the exhaust based on your personal taste).
