Description
People carrier or spacious vehicle that you can sleep in, this turbo diesel 4WD elgrand is in really good condition with all the power you need. I owned and drove this elgrand in Japan for two years, then brought it home to Australia myself so I have all the documents. Can prove that the low mileage is genuine .Two sunroofs, comfortable rear seats that fold down flat and fold up sideways to increase space in the back. Two wheel and four wheel drive, power boost. Climate control. Electric windows and mirrors. Front and rear monitors, can watch dvds and listen to cds and ipods through a separate FM transmitter/charger plugged in to the cigarette lighter and the ipod or iphone. The GPS has not yet been converted, but it's a quick and relatively cheap procedure if you decide you need it . Regularly serviced , its very smooth to drive.I doubt you will find an elgrand being sold by someone who brought it back from Japan himself as their own car. Most elgrands are imported by dealers/caryards. Be warned, there have been cases of those dealers getting busted for winding back the odometers (kms) in order to get a better price. Google 'Imported car Odometer scandal' and you will see what I am referring to.I purchased it from the first owner in Japan, who had kept it in a garage and had really taken care of it, doing only 110,000 kms over 11 years. I bought it in 2010. I had it checked over fully and regularly serviced by Nissan Mechanics in Kochi city, West Japan, for two years while living over there, doing about 12,000 kms during that period.I have kept all the paperwork and as my passport can prove, for most of the past 3 years, since after I had the compliance done and had it registered here in Australia in 2012, I have been out of the country. During that time, it was garaged here, only doing about 1000kms. I had a family friend take it for a short drive every few weeks and change the oil once a year, despite it only doing about 300kms on average each of those three years, to keep it running smoothly. It has never done any off road four wheel driving. Though it could if you wanted to. You could have chunky offroad wheels put on it, and it could go anywhere reserved for 4WDs. At 100,000kms, the timing belts were changed. at 115,000kms, the diesel pump was changed. These two measures alone ensure you won't have any of the various problems that could otherwise have arisen. . Come and see it and test drive it. You will see that its age belies its condition. despite it being a '98 model, its looks and drives like a much newer model. I may accept a reduction of hundreds but not thousands. If you are still a long way short of the displayed price, or reluctant to spend close to that amount, it would be better to keep looking and refrain from wasting each other's time, thanks.
