Bought this truck three years ago had heaps of work done to the engine, too much to list here, dealt with the usual heat issues of a td42, opened up the air flow, overhauled the cooling system, upgraded the air-con which now has a switch to kick in electric fan and increase idle.
It not a pretty paint job Ive literally been out the bush at least every week and its got me into places i only dreamt of, its never let me down. Front right panel damage and left door damaged, The interior floor is vinyl so you can jump in and out with mud and wipe her clean with ease. the door trims were all tossed and new ones fitted with marine carpet and electric windows for the front. The electric windows are clicking a bit didn't both me cos its a truck but you might want to replace the scissor arms one day. The rear driver side door hinge isn;t working i never bothered to fix it, sure its simple fix i just never needed that door.
The rear drawer system is home made had my cooker and gas bottles setup in the left, all tools in the right. side panels for big tools, detectors, etc. behind the rear seats is another compartment which has a amplifier hooked into the sub box in the back. I originally had the sub hooked up inside the compartment which you can see if you inspect the truck. The speakers are old kenwoods and they flop around a bit.
The stereo is awesome for this setup, its a fusion with Bluetooth and handsfree call/answering functions works great i just had the faceplate replaced under warranty last week i havent even taken the plastic off.
Last dec 2014 we did a trip from Ballarat to the sunshine ccoast and around the scenic rim, boonah, kalbar etc. the missus was pregnant so i fitted a new set of dobinsons long travel springs these are soft as and drive a dream on the highway and in the bush, supported by tough dog 3 inch adjustable shocks on the front and RX 9000xls adjustable on the back. we put new ironman front and rear panhard and all genuine rubber.
I also fitted new seats i sourced in the front, they were from an old gq which had been garaged they are immaculate, the rears seats not so pretty.
Because this truck was one of the old originals pre aug 1989 they came with bench seats, these were pulled out and modern GQ seats fitted, I had to have an engineer cert done for that and the long range fuel tank. so it has a mod plate with two numbers.
in Aug last year I had all rubbers changed over that is rear lower and upper control arms and front radius arms all genuine nissan rubber, i did not like the nolothan or cheap crap, nissan rubber feels so much better. whilst changing the rubbers we pulled
the long range fuel tank because the small electric pump that it had carked it from non use.
the tank comes with the sale as does all the manuals gregories and manufacturers manual printed some 150+ pages. all the spares bushes, gaskets come with the sale no point in me holding onto them as i now have a family and drive a family standard GU.
Those who know the value of the td42, suspension fitted and thetime it takes to get these trucks `100% stable with no speed warbles will appreciate this truck and will some panels work and a coat of paint this truck would be well over $10k.
why am i selling? just had a baby we plan to move to QLD next year we now have three cars and its not realistic paying rego on three cars when i hardly get to use this truck anymore. I would hate for it to sit and turn to crap as well becasue shes been my baby and been very good to me. If i had the time i would fix the panel damage paint the truck exterior and change out the speakers.
The rego was due this week, selling as is with no RWC, you would at least need to remove the drop boxes which is a 1 hour job to get a rego, i'm no mechanic so i dont know what else you might need for victoria, i'm sorry i just don't have the time and the listing price is fair.
If interested to look further and have the funds shoot me a message on here and i'll happily show you the truck and take you for a drive.
I'm open to realistic offers COD - ** if you are the successful buyer please contact me within 24 hours, i need the car moved asap as i have loads of family coming to stay here next week
