NISSAN PATROL GU DIESEL WAGON (1999)
This car looks great, starts first time every time. Started blowing smoke on first start of the day a couple of months ago. Overheats when the A/C is on in warm weather. Took the car for a weekend away and there's no way it's going to get back over the hills to go home. Suspected cracked head, and not sure if damage done to the engine (to be perfectly honest). Still starts at the first turn of the key and hasn't lost any coolant in the last 3 days, but then it's only been driven to and from the supermarket on reasonably flat roads. I have decided to downgrade as I no longer require a big tow vehicle and it's cheaper to buy an older sedan than it is to pay for parts and labour on replacing the head. So, she needs to go.
THE GOOD STUFF:
Really straight truck.
Zero rust.
260992 on the clock which is low for a vehicle of her age.
Brand new JVC head unit.
Had seat covers on so upholstery is in great condition.
Had floor mats in so carpet is good.
7 seater, with removable back row, so plenty of boot space.
Heavy duty tow bar.
6 months rego.
Only had a roadworthy done 6 months ago.
All glass/lenses/electrics fine.
THE NOT SO GOOD STUFF:
A strip of approximately 2-3 inches of the window tint on the back LHS has been peeled off at the base of the window.
The seatbelt at the very back on the LHS has been removed (courtesy of a kelpie pup)
The rear row seats are not currently bolted in, but they are pretty easy to get in and out. Will try to find the bolts, but there is a possibility that I won't find them because we've just moved and they could be just about anywhere.
The inside panel of the larger of the 2 rear doors has a split/cut in it (like that when I bought it) and has been gaffer taped.
The tyres (BFGs) may or may not pass roadworthy? My guess is that they're borderline.
The car has been a child and pet friendly vehicle (it's far from awful, but it's not PRISTINE)
Various scratches and scrapes, but none that are super obvious unless you're up close (claws on doors mainly)
THE POTENTIALLY UGLY STUFF:
I've been told that replacing the head will cost somewhere in the region of $3000 (parts and labour)
If you live more than about 30mins away or there are big hills involved, you probably won't be able to drive it home without making sure that you've packed a lunch.
