Description

Howdy.
Up for sale, I have an automatic '96 Nissan Terrano - Aero(Import) 2.7L Turbo Diesel.
I have owned this vehicle for almost 12 years and it only had 1 owner before me who kept it garaged for most of the time he owned it. To my knowledge this particular model (the Aero) is quite rare. There is some bad areas of rust showing in certain areas as seen in the photos. Also, the clear coating is peeling off, but only on the bonnet.
It has been off the road for the past 3 years as a result of the piston rings going and the cause of this I am uncertain of as I had it professionally serviced on regular occasions. It runs quite smoothly at idle speed and is drivable at low speeds, but lacks power and once revved or driven fast then a lot of smoke is emitted. It smells like burning oil, so I'm assuming it's the rings.
It is a very nice vehicle still and the interior is in very good condition. I have installed a cd player and new speakers in the front doors. Exterior noise is at a minimum while driving and is very quiet and comfortable to drive. It has power and tilt steering, power windows, power mirrors, twin airbags, digital temperature gauge for external temperature and digital compass and the air conditioning still works perfectly. I have installed an Electronic Rust Prevention System on it also.
Before the rings went on it I had just had a brand new alternator installed, brand new front brake rotors were installed. Also, I had new injectors installed, a set of brand new BF Goodrich tyres fitted and have fitted newer side steps to it.
There are a couple of extras that come with it such as a pair of brand new rear shock absorbers, which I haven't got around to putting on yet and a tinted plastic front bonnet guard. One of the centre caps on the wheels was lost, but I have purchased a brand new set of 4 which are still in their box.
Overall, the motor has done low kilometres for a diesel and through a bit of research a complete engine rebuild kit can be purchased from between $500-$700 if you wanted to go that far, just the rings themselves seem to be able to be purchased for around $100, which is the way I was going to go as I didn't think there should be anything else wrong with the engine, considering its age and how well looked after it was.
On the rear drivers side door, as shown in the photos, I have taken the weather stripping off and begun to cut out the rust at the top of the door. The rust in the picture is just surface rust from sitting there without primer on it and can easily be wire brushed off before priming, which I may still yet do. I bought two second-hand weather seals, which one has been installed on the passenger side, and I have the other one there ready for when the rust is fixed.
The rust that I have found has been in the front bottom corner of the drivers door, two patches on the firewall in the engine bay, the bottom of the front left fender and along the sill of the rear drivers side door.
Not included: Seat covers, steering wheel cover and driving lights/spot lights.
Cash on pick up is also accepted, thanks.
Thank you and good luck!
