Description

Real 1966 442 Tri-Carb with OAI – (‘Track Pack’ installed). This numbers matching car has undergone a complete on the frame mechanical and electrical restoration. Just about every part that can be replaced has been, and the parts that haven’t been replaced have been media blasted and repainted.

The original 400 Tri-Carb Motor has less than 100 miles on it since being built. Bored .30 over, forged flat top pistons, rods resized, crank turned and polished, block align honed, fully balanced, custom grind cam, new Lifters. Heads have been ported, the exhaust crossovers blocked (flow the same as Edelbrock Aluminum Heads out of the box) with full roller rockers, bronze valve guides and hardened exhaust valve seats (no lead additive needed). Pushrods have restrictors to keep more oil in the bottom end. A Pertronix II Ignition and Coil give plenty of spark. A High Torque Mini Starter and Hooker Ceramic Coated Headers have been installed along with a new 2-1/2” welded Stainless Exhaust and new mufflers.

An aftermarket OAI system (Outside Air Induction) with the chrome shroud has been added, with the air intakes hidden in the front bumper. This is an extremely rare 1 year only item! I am told that there are very few of these remaining in the world. We have also added tall chrome valve covers and oil top hat.

The motor runs VERY STRONG!

The original close ratio M-21 Transmission has been rebuilt with new synchros, bearings, gaskets and seals. The special Hurst 442 shifter has been rebuilt and the handle rechromed. Flywheel surfaced and new clutch and throw-out bearing installed.

The original 3.90 Limited Slip Differential is tight and quiet, with new bearings, gaskets and fluid. Driveshaft detailed with new U-joints.

The Black Bucket Seat Interior has new Legendary Upholstery, new Headliner, new Black Carpet and a very nice console. All new door handles inside and out, new window cranks, and new locks throughout (even the console and glove box have the correctly keyed operating locks). Remote keyless entry has been installed. Deluxe Seat Belts with front Retractors, Grant Steering Wheel with Oldsmobile Horn Button on rare tilt steering column.

All gauges work, including the original clock! Dash and Tail lights have been upgraded to bright LED’s. A set of aftermarket gauges have been added under the dash for Oil Pressure, Water Temp and Voltage. The odometer reads approx. 27,000 miles, and I can only assume that it has turned over. This car also has the very rare operating Sidewinder Tach.

All new suspension parts front and rear: New Springs, Shocks, Bushings, Ball Joints, Idler Arm, Tie Rod Ends, Bearings and Brakes. An upgraded Close Ratio Power Steering Box has been installed to give it that newer car steering feel. Fresh front end alignment.

All new Weatherstripping and Insulation (Doors, Trunk, Hood and Firewall Pad)

New OEM Look Oldsmobile AM/FM Stereo Radio, along with new stereo speaker in front and new speaker in the rear, along with a new package tray.

Both bumpers and all of the stainless are in very good condition.

The battery has been relocated to the nicely detailed trunk, the trunk also has a light and remote trunk lock opener. Nice Spare Tire mounted on a matching Outlaw II rim along with an operating Bumper Jack.

Brand new Cooper Cobra RWL Tires, mounted on new American Racing Outlaw II Rims.

Front – 235/60-15 on 15 x 7 rims
Rear – 295/50-15 on 15 x 10 rims

The car was repainted some time previous to me owning it. The paint looks fine from 10 feet, but there are some minor dings and a few small bubbles showing along the bottom of the doors. I know that if I spent the time and money to paint this car, it could be a real high dollar car, but I do not have the funds (or frankly the desire) to take it any further.
