Description

1 of 886 total built in 1980. Basically the same car as a 79 Hurst Olds except the Hurst Shifter and it has the turn signals in the bumper for 1980 Calais only and the ONLY Cutlass in 1980 to option a 350 V8. Optioned power windows - power door locks - air conditioning - tilt steering - cruise control - rear window defrost. Vin # verifies a 442.
A much more rare of a car than a 79 Hurst Olds. I be as descriptive as possible.
Exterior
Extremely rust free (Sold new in S.C.) - great rockers- perfect trunk - wheel wells - frame rails. Only a small spot of rust on backside of trunk deck edge which did not protrude to the front side. New tires - ALL weather strip - front bumper filler new, 2 back pieces new - paint and 442 graphics (not show car quality but nice) - new windshield. Rocker trim and trim in really nice shape. Bumpers had just a little surface rust and so I painted them titanium, look pretty good, as great candidates for re-chrome.
Interior
Basically restored- NEW carpet - headliner - dash overlay - sun visors - woodgrain overlay- seats reupholstered - new passenger window motor - 442 door emblems - replaced side seat hinge covers - refurbished door panels and sail panels -radio works and new speakers.
Mechanical
I purchased this with a rebuilt 1970 rocket 350 (had 110 miles on rebuild now has roughly 1,000) - rebuilt trans same - new quadrajet carburetor- new fuel pump - new exhaust - I replaced new rear air shocks - new brakes and bearings. Lights and turn signals all work. On the rally instrument cluster - only the speedometer does not work all other gauges do. Not sure why as have 2 brand new cables and speedometer needle works at the cluster when spun by fingers.
Minor Issues -Because the engine was replaced - most issues are most likely vacuum OR ground issues as, I'm not a mechanic or wiring guy so I'd bet these are easy fixes for those who are.
Not operational.
Cruise control - dash vents - power door locks (wiring and hardware is there and plugged in but doesn't work) - clock plugged in and (it did work before I restored but doesn't now WTFrig) - air conditioning pump works but needs to be service, could be ground?. Not sure if rear window defrost works or not - I live in the south and this car is garage kept.
Despite a few items needing attention to get to the next level or just drive it as is forever, This vehicle starts, shifts, drives and rides really, really well and am quite sure it would drive to several states if not wanting to ship. I drive this couple of times a week. A very rare G-body car as some have estimated there are less than 200 1980 442's left in the U.S. and Canada.
A $250 non refundable deposit is due within 48 hours of auction ending. The rest in cash in person or reputable cashiers check upon pickup. Will not release the title until cashiers check and money is verified.
