1968 Oldsmobile 442 Holiday Coupe frame off restoration was done 2016 Motor is now a 455 professionally rebuilt dynoed 498Hp 600lbs of tourqe original 4spd Muncie close ratio 3.42 posi all rebuilt FiTech fuel injected carburetor all new Global West suspension only 6100 miles since restoration
The chassis dyno it made 510 ft lbs. at the rear wheels, this would be
about 612ft lbs. at the crank and is making a dyno tested 498 hp I do not believe
any recalibration will be required, with the Fitech Fuel Injection
The rear end is an Oldsmobile 3:42 posi. Only cars built in the
USA got that rear end, All Canadian built cars got the Chev rear ends. There was
one train carload of rear ends sent to Oshawa for one day of production But there are 35 cars that were made in Canada with this
combination.
Front springs 2 inch drop rear springs 1- inch drop.
Front brakes are disc 1969-single piston, replacing the problematic 1968 style.
The rear suspension upgrades are all from Global West. The differential housing
gears, the upper double adjustable control arms and the lower control arms all
have the cool roto bearings. powder coated black from Global West. Also, the
aluminum differential cover that adds an extra pint of oil for extra cooling
ability. The front suspension has Global west Delrin Bushings.
The engine has Edelbrock intake 2151, Edelbrock aluminum cylinder heads with
comp cams roller rockers. forged pistons with a 9.5: 1 compression ratio. the
engine was all designed and rebuilt for torque, it was decked, squared, align
honed and the crank and all rotating assembly were balanced.
upgrade, EFI and better Roller rockers,
the upgrades make (612ft lbs. torque) (498 hp)
It has a Mondello cam P/N 22-25-10, .523 intake lift and .541 exhaust, 238
degrees intake and 246 degrees exhaust at .50 lift on a 110-degree center
line.and finally, the FITECH fuel injection system is rated up to 600 hp. It has a
Holley self-enclosed non return fuel pump and pick up in the fuel tank. No Baffles
