Description
1984 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera convertible. This is a nice original car that we purchased from the second owner, who bought it in the late 80s. He drove it for years then parked it in the garage when the fuel pump went out sometime in the 90s.
Since purchasing it last year, we replaced the fuel pump and flushed the fuel tank, replaced a leaky radiator and both radiator hoses. The car starts, runs and can be driven around the block, but will need a little more attention to be roadworthy.
The body is very good with no rust through in the floors or main body. There are two small rust through spots on the lower rocker covers as shown, but they are not structural. Body has a dent on each quarter panel in front of the rear wheels, and the right front marker light and header panel have a crack as shown. We just buffed and waxed the paint and it's very presentable for it's age.
The interior is well preserved with no significant damage aside from some wear on the driver seat back. There are some light stains and age discoloration on the leather.
Lights, gauges, heater, top mechanism, rear defroster and windows work. The right rear window was broken years ago, but the previous owner made a piece of pleixglass that fits in the opening when the top it up.
Radio works intermittently. Power seat motor runs but seat doesn't move. Top is worn and has several holes as shown.
To be driveable, the car will need the thermostat repaired that controls the electric radiator fan. I have it temporarily jumpered so that it's always on, and this keeps the engine cool. The left front caliper drags a little when using the brakes more than a few times. It doesn't lock up, but you can feel that it's not releasing all the way.
Odometer shows 89,100 miles but I believe it has turned over. The transmission was rebuilt in the 1990s before it was parked.
This is a great project car that can be back on the road with a little TLC. There were less than 800 of these cars made and they're well made. The conversion included heavy steel reinforcements to the unibody which makes the car very rigid. You can see that on this car, as the doors close perfectly without any sag.
Documentation includes original owners manual, a Haynes service manual, and some receipts from the previous owner.
We are an Ohio classic car dealer and do not charge extra documentation fees, handling fees, etc. We're located In Amelia, Ohio, just east of Cincinnati. The car is for sale at a reasonable price with no reserve. If you would like to send a transporter to pick up the car, we are happy to help with scheduling and loading. We welcome serious bids and answer all questions quickly.
Thanks for looking!
